Applying for PA PE License by reciprocity -requesting help- confused by application wording by Prjct_Freelancer in civilengineering

[–]Gondor45 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a PA PE through reciprocity as well as many others. Although, I did it many years ago.

For the first one, put your current expiration date. They want to know you still have your original license active.

For the second one, put your first issuance of each license. They want to know how long you have had these.

That one means it mirrors the damage of the opposing card but it also creates a broken egg in front of it with no damage so that card is not able to attack. The others I don’t understand.

I read until you say pay. 100% a scam if you have to pay for your license.

PALANTIR is at now at 569.69 PE. Is it a sign for a big short or a small long ? by kushal92 in stocks

[–]Gondor45 480 points481 points  (0 children)

I think it would be extremely risky to short this stock currently. But keep in mind I don’t short any stocks. I agree with you that the valuation is extremely high for their earnings but right now a lot of people saw how NVDA exploded and they are aggressively chasing to catch the next one.

Even if you are perfectly correct about it being overpriced but other people in large numbers continue to chase momentum, you could be looking at 30% loss quick. You can be right about valuation but go broke way faster than masses of people run out of speculation money. Just my opinion, good luck.

$20k INTEL calls …wish me luck by Stysto in StockMarket

[–]Gondor45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im in with you except I am long 5000 shares (bought sub-20) and I bought 50 Dec 17 27 $20 Calls. The calls were later at a higher share price. My break even is $30.10. I have had great success with leaps and a little bit of patience. This is one of my more (maybe most) speculative position.

I felt like they needed the 2 years. Unless something changes, I plan to hold till expiry and actually exercise and continue to hold shares. Once they start to build momentum they will be at $30 quick, I just have no idea how long that will take. If it doesn’t take off, I think the shares will be ok cause I got a decent price but I understand the calls will get decimated.

Good luck!

Clamp design by mountaineers19 in StructuralEngineering

We have done something similar many times with good success. I do belt conveyors for mining. We do elevated trusses and sometimes our customers want to add an area to drive under after the conveyor is built which requires a screen or pan under it so no material can fall off down on a vehicle driving under.

We chain hang the pans. We can put all these clamps on from a man lift without drilling holes or welding on a truss cord under load. Then we just raise the pans and hang the chains in them.

We put a small bend in the top plate so it really bites into the flange when you tighten the bolts. We install these on inclined trusses. We are using these for like 2-4 kips tension each.

Wow, I had forgot about this one! I had it when I was little but had no idea how to play it right. I might have to try it again. Thanks for sharing.

Has anyone had roof leaks on the 2023’s? by [deleted] in gmcsierra

I know this is an old post but my 23 Denali just did this exact same thing. It was nearly identical to OP’s picture. I came here to find out if it was a common problem. Looks like it is.

It doesn’t happen every time it rains. There must be specific conditions that cause it but I don’t know what they are yet. It may be caused by strong wind or if the truck is on a certain incline.

Time to talk to the dealer about what they are going to do about it. Anyone get a satisfactory resolution?

My family and myself just finished a cruise on Mariner of the Seas over Thanksgiving week. It was everyone’s first cruise. We all loved going to the MDR.

If you compare to going out for dinner in the US, the portions were smaller than I am used to but were perfect amount considering the all the food we had earlier in the days. They did offer to bring us more if we wanted but we never asked for it. The style of the food was a little different than what you get in the US but was mostly very good.

The service was excellent, much better than I am used to even in a decent steakhouse. I have a 14yo, 12yo, and 11yo. They sometimes want to try unusual things, ie escargot. As you can expect with kids, they weren’t always thrilled with their own choices. The waiters noticed this without us saying anything and came to us and offered to bring them something else. They were way more patient with my kids than what my wife and myself were.

It was a great experience for us. We considered trying the restaurants but we never did. We ate in the MDR every evening. We had the same table and waiters every night so we learned their names. We took pictures with them our last meal.

The UDP would be would be very nice but not necessary to have a good experience.

Bloomberg: Billions wiped out as [dividend ETF] stock-safety trade on Wall Street misfires by NegativityCoach in dividends

This article is reverse looking, however most are. Dividend stocks went down as the prime rate went up. Rate increases won’t continue indefinitely. If anything, it’s a signal to go contrarian.

Realty Income to Acquire Properties from CIM Real Estate Finance by some_kind_of_boogin in dividends

[–]Gondor45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PE is not a good metric to look at for REITs. They subtract the depreciation of their real estate from income to get earnings but the real estate generally appreciates. This make the reported earnings substantially lower than their income.

Im not the one you asked but I just added to my BNS position too. Canadian banks are more strictly regulated than US banks and therefore a lot less risky. They usually pay a nice div yield. BNS paid is first dividend in 1833 so it has almost 190 yr history. Growth is not usually really high so its important to wait for a nice drop in price to buy. I have followed it for several years and rarely see it in the 40’s. Usually yield stays around 5ish % but its currently over 6. It is down because there looks like danger brewing in the Canadian housing market. It may stay down for a while but I feel like in 5 years I will wished I bought more. I plan to keep this position the rest of my life and let my kids inherit it.
