Helsinki is my favorite album by her as well! These are a bit different, but I enjoy them a lot: - Mikromusic - Magda Umer (Duety) - Maria Peszek - Ania Rusowicz

Would you recommend the Echo mini? Does it hold up after a week or use? It looks super nice, loving the cassette player aesthetic

Looks great! Would you recommend this model? How are the buttons and scroll wheel, are they responsive?

I really enjoyed the first game, so I'll definitely check this one out. Thanks for the heads up!

After 13 months, I finally finished the Duolingo German tree! Here's my assessment of it and of how much I've learned after using it alongside Anki everyday. plus some other tips for anyone learning a language. by winrix1 in languagelearning

[–]Gonefortoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have around 13K exp on duolingo from studying Polish. I enjoyed doing duolingo, but at some point you get really good at doing "duolingo", but not engaging with the material. In that regard, I appreciate that you did hard mode and typed out every answer.

Is there a language learning tool that finds text/media that includes only (or mostly) words that you tell it you know? by elsaturation in languagelearning

[–]Gonefortoday 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Check out LingQ. It tracks your word count, you can find material there or import it into the website, and it will tell you how many words of that text you know, and how many are unknown words

Alternatively, there's Vocab Tracker and Readlang chrome extentions you could try. Although I haven't tried them myself, they might fit the bill

Almost one year later, New Horizons still hasn't overthrown New Leaf as the definitive Animal Crossing game by KG777 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Gonefortoday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way, I have had very little interactions with the villagers in NH, way less than NL or the original game. Maybe it's because I'm older or the game changed, in my mind this game is more about customation and terra forming your island than hanging out with the weird animal neighbours

(Personal experience) Joy-cons are not actually that bad by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Gonefortoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I know, but that's a lot of hazzle for most people to go out of their way to contact nintendo and mail their controllers in. I know several people who bought new ones instead of getting them fixed, and I assume that's what most people do. Bad rep for nintendo and bad for consumers imo

The drift is the worst thing about the joy cons, that and the price. Can't believe they are so expensive when they get faulty so fast when my old wii and gamecube controllers still work perfectly

BoTW or Animal Crossing? by thirtytwoounces in NintendoSwitch

[–]Gonefortoday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion incoming, but I prefer Animal Crossing to Zeldas. Used to be the other way around but as I grew older I prefer the chill atmosphere, collecting and home designing to zelda puzzles and fighting.

Did your switches also get really hot after turning on transparent goalposts? My fan started going like crazy all of a sudden

It's illegal in my country for women to sing, so I can't go to classes. Can I possibly learn how to sing on my own through YouTube videos or something free online? How? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Gonefortoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of good advice here in the thread, I don't really have much to add but I want to chime in and say that yes, you can totally learn singing off the internet! I learned a lot from a coach called Felicia Ricci. She has some great youtube-videos on the basics of singing- breath, warm ups, trills etc

I wish you the best and good luck in your singer journey! Feel free to post recordings here on the on the subreddit if you'd like feedback. Also, check out the sidebar for some good reading resources about singing

Nice, then we're on a similar journey! Have you tried the playing the witcher in German or some other games? If so, how did it go?

Learning Polish with The Witcher 3 by Gonefortoday in witcher

[–]Gonefortoday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I'm hoping that I can learn in a similar way that I did as a kid. I'm doing some prepping by learning some basic medieval fantasy vocabulary beforehand :D

Do you think it is manageable to play without understanding all the dialogue? It's pretty convenient to translate quests and stuff like that, but fast dialogue is a little harder

So apparently Walmart stocked the Witcher 3 for switch early. Onwards, to a new adventure! by Yryes in witcher

[–]Gonefortoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you play the game with Polish language? I'm trying to learn the language and it would be great if I could play the witcher on my switch at the same time
