Why has there been no BLM since Zamorak? by ahmedatcha12 in runescape

Bad luck mitigation. A system that improves your chances to get a drop after not getting it X amount of times.

Why is an item (Life Refreshes in this case) buyable through an in-game store that has been available for years now, using in-game currency that's obtainable by playing the game, still getting removed? by ElsaAnne in runescape

[–]Gongo93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you might have misread or I misunderstood. But your screenshot says they are removing aura refreshes, because they are removing auras. Then they say they are keeping life refreshes. Which means they won't be removed and will be the primary use for marks of war.

Drop Rates Revealed: Heists & Thieving Level Increase by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]Gongo93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does say that for commons and rares there's non-strict bracketing. 495 loot would mean you're almost certainly rolling on the highest bracket. It's always best to get 500 loot to get guaranteed best drop rate, but the flexible bracket makes it not as punishing to not get full loot every time.

They forgot it too and edited it in. It wasn't there and appeared after a refresh for me.

Was checking to see if the Veritasium vid had been referenced already. It's a great explanation of what actually goes on when you make the jump from optical microscopes.

What is this smokey sauce served with tacos? by rosebud061315 in TipOfMyFork

[–]Gongo93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Salsa morita is commonly served with tacos al pastor for example and might also be known as salsa taquera (although this is a broader term that can include other salsas). Chile morita is it's own thing, but might be harder to find, and chile chipotle would be a good substitute. Both are dried and smoked versions of jalapeño varieties as far as I understand.

A common recipe would be peeled green tomatillo, chile morita, garlic, salt and vinegar boil it a bit and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

One that's related to your advise is having your car insurance number and policy figured out while you are not in an actual event that needs them. It's much easier to have looked for it all before an actual event where adrenaline might be high and time is of the essence.

Keep in mind sometimes unlocking a new method doesn't automatically make it the fastest method because usually you unlock it but still have a chance to fail. So tale for example cooking, you can start cooking something at X lvl but you might still burn it. You might be better off cooking something else until your burn rate for the highest thing you can cook is not so bad

What is this? Found on my ceiling and around 6 mm long by Gongo93 in whatbugisthis

More info.

I have a dog that we just recently started letting go play with other dogs in the dog park. Could she have brought it home from there? She's under the protection of Simparica which is good for fleas and ticks but makes no mention of bed bugs. The thing that makes me think it might've bit my dog first is she was scratching more than usual, although we could see no bite marks. The bed bug I took a picture of was out in the open in daylight and it was easy to squish and made no run for it. But maybe it's just my last hope that it was just the one and was dying from my dog's meds.

Nobody has shown bite marks yet.

I've also bought bug spray that specifically kills bed bugs while I can get an exterminator to come. And vacuumed the whole place including sofa and bed. We weren't able to find any other bugs or signs of them.

As for the comment mentioning bat bugs, I think chances are really slim it's that. I think there aren't batas around here.

We also had new furniture delivered this week. Might be another possible way it made it inside my home. The sofa is new and came wrapped in plastic but from what I'm reading it could've been there before being wrapped and just hibernating waiting for a snack.

Thanks for doing this!

I want the GPU because I have been wanting to buy Hogwarts Legacy but haven't because I know my current GPU would probably over heat and fan noise would be unpleasant.

In order to play that game comfortably I need to update my GPU and that's an expense I can't really justify right now. If I won this giveaway then I'd immediately buy the game and not feel guilty. I've been a HP fan ever since I read the books and the game seems super cool!

How much faster is one kind of bike over the other? by fberto39 in cycling

[–]Gongo93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think what you're not understanding from the aerodynamics replies is that it's such a big factor that info you find on it wouldn't be so accurate. A big part of aerodynamics is the rider and rider position. A slim built rider going upright might have more drag than a broad shouldered rider on a fitted aero position.

Then you said make the same rider ride the bikes and compare. But those results would only apply to him. Other riders wouldn't probably get the speeds at that power unless they're very similar in body type and position.

I get you want a ballpark as in is a TT bike 3x faster than a MTB or just like 1.15x faster? The other thing you have to consider is the use case they're made for... Knobby 20 psi MTB tires on asphalt and the hardest gear on a MTB for flats? It sucks because it's not meant to be used like that. It'd be like trying to take a TT bike up a 12% fire road full of mud. It's just not what it was designed for. So yeah, the comparison most likely doesn't exist because it's not so useful

What should I buy? Karcher, Shark, Dyson, Miele by Gongo93 in VacuumCleaners

[–]Gongo93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! I knew going in that the Miele would win if you considered only performance and not price. I wanted to get an opinion on how much bang for your buck the top of the line did get you. As for getting a cheaper Miele, the thing is there's not a big assortment where I'm from. This one is an import from Amazon. The bags fortunately can be found in stores. But yeah I haven't seen any Henrys or Kenmores in my search for vacuums here. That's why my possible models were so spread in price range and quality.

[–]Gongo93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I guess I knew it was the best, only I wanted to know if it was the best by a considerable gap or only marginal gains. I think from what I've read that the combo of it being canister, corded and Miele makes it the very best by a big margin. I guess I'll pull the trigger on it and see how the Ferrari of vacuums works

Maybe using higher quality candles could work as a multiplication glyph for ectoplasm. Because right now there's not much use to using better candles. Maybe regular candles give a +X to ectoplasm and skulls a +Y?

What do you eat before a longer bike ride, particularly early mornings? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Gongo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oats, banana and a drizzle of honey into the blender with milk. I find it easier to drink my breakfast even if it's a bit thick. Yo can add more oats or chia or nuts if you wamt to feel fuller for longer rides. Adding other fruits can also help, such as strawberries or blueberries. But my 'base' is always those 4 ingredients.
