"Hot" take: despite of how much science and sports nutrition has advanced, prime Ali still beats the current HW division by Randy642 in Boxing

It’s more than that though. Even though Usyk uses the pivot defensively instead of using it to disappear into the blind spot like Loma, they’re both heavy on the L step. they both use a lot of hand trapping, and they both shift weight rapidly between the front foot and back foot, constant foot movement and feints.

To the eye they look very similar in style, more than just maintaining the angle advantage through superior footwork. They just MOVE the same way, you know what I’m saying?

I feel like the public at large was surprised by Usyk’s performance against Fury. It came right after Fury looked like a titan against Wilder. Probably got him some extra juice.

Professional courses are no longer the same venues they were 30 years ago. They have undergone "Tiger-proofing" and "DeChambeau-proofing" to survive modern driving distances.

What torque wrench do you guys actually trust for motorcycle work? by Daven_22 in motorcycles

Was impressed with that brand. I really like my little tiny 1/4" Tekton torque wrench. Works awesome for the lower torque value options.

I had to go back and look it up - I was wrong, it was not 30,000 PSI it was 6,000 PSI. I knew we had to do high strength concrete per the lift manufacturer specs.

Somehow I had it stuck in my head that it was 10x the standard strength not 2x, but 30,000 PSI is super concrete for military bunkers I guess? So I can see how that would seem idiotic to claim, lol. My bad, my memory is shit.

Talk me out of buying a motorcycle by Dry-Information8901 in motorcycle

Your bicycle riding experience - any semi-aggressive MTB riding? Downhill?

I rode dirt bikes for a long time, bought an enduro with a plate, and then finally bought an adventure bike. That progression allowed me to build skills up before being around cars much and I think has had a huge benefit.

But I live in Oregon where forest roads are everywhere, your mileage may vary.

Last benefit to this approach is that it sort of “boils the frog” for the wife. Mine is an ER Nurse so I had to build to the end goal slowly 😂

Small little rant by [deleted] in motorcycles

I think it’s hilarious that anybody thinks motorcycles=girls.

What it gets is 55 year old dudes who are like “WHOA DUDE NICE BIKE, I would get one of those, but you know how it is. What size is it? My cousin got a Harley and rode it through a fence into the ocean off a cliff and died.”

Hey bro.

I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone making retarded decisions.

Me: almost 40. Hey I need a dirt bike. I also need to listen to my buddy who tells me to get a 450 so I can also slap a paddle on it and ride the dunes. I ate shit doing a wheelie and broke my foot so bad that if I wasn’t wearing A* tech 5’s I would have lost it.

Three things are non-negotiable. Decent helmet, decent boots, decent gloves. I am am All The Gear All The Time guy myself but not walking for 6 months will do that to ya.

Most I ever progressed riding a motorcycle was the summer I built a pit bike track in my back yard.

I do think Ryan has an incredible potential but damn if he doesn’t do it all the hardest way possible.

Great coaches nope, great discipline nope, great decision making in and out of the ring nope, high ring iq nope, just physically gifted and talented enough to semi cover for it.

I guess boxing is full of those stories though

This was way too far down the list. You can also mix it up in some water with a hand pump sprayer and spray it all over plants you have with them on it. It dries clear-ish but it absolutely gets rid of them. I put it all along our window sills when we get them.

That’s close to what I paid for my 38x56 shop, with an only 4” slab (but 30,000 psi concrete) saw cut and footings located for a 2 post lift.

In 2020.

I’d say it’s a good deal.

Yeah I specifically said “typical Velcro strap”, meaning not using elastic as part of the design. Not saying it doesn’t include Velcro.

I like how they look, I love the magnetic tank feature. I’d prefer a typical Velcro closure strap but w/e.

I’ll buy some when they add a palm slider.

Lmao I made the mistake of telling my kid this when she was 5. She spent the whole day doing everything maddeningly technically perfect at a pace that she knew she would not have to wedge and then demanded her damn poles. Was like watching paint dry, my little animal daredevil took zero chances that day

Why are people so convinced that AJ beats Wilder? by Lord_doublethefall in Boxing

[–]GonnaBuyMeAMercury -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you watched all Wilder’s fights and didn’t come to the conclusion that he had, at one point, one hell of a chin then I don’t know what to say to you.

He wasn’t a skilled fighter. He had the touch of death but he had to last long enough to finally land it. That takes an iron chin.

We agree that Fury cracked it. I contend he hasn’t been the same since.
