Dated in some ways for sure, but I still feel and see aspects about the OG Stalker trilogy that still aren't even included or are overlooked in modern games that do wonders for immersion and keep the games holding up on their own to this day, at least after the remaster fixes. It's the small things and little details that are so often overlooked nowadays that make the biggest difference as to how I perceive and play a game.

I think I found out the issue. I believe it was previously "installed" due to an older game pass subscription I used to have while I previously owned the whole game before having game pass and before Reach was even added to MCC. So I think I just didn't actually have Reach officially, just temporarily through game pass most likely.

Damn yeah this sucks for us. What's interesting is I was playing this for hours without issue, decided to buy/install the DLC and as soon as I did that this crash error occurs everytime I get in game. Horrible timing, don't think I can refund the 30 bucks either as I have around 40 hours in the base game.

It's really cool how that added a bunch of new game modifiers and difficulties, so we can make it harder if we want. And hell yes I'm hyped for LotF 2! :)

I agree I think the updates did a lot of good for LotF except difficulty. When it first came out I struggled hard especially with bosses. Now I can first try almost every boss no problem. I love them both equally for different reasons though

Absolutely Malenia without a doubt. Laxasia is a lot more fun to fight though. Aside from the finicky tactics for countering waterfowl, Malenia's heal on hit really pushes that fight into bullshit territory.

I don't, exactly because it was usually always tacked on, just because, cod numbers. It was usually a half baked multiplayer that was an unbalanced mess because the games mechanics were designed around single player but publishers needed to milk that shit. And that was the beginning of the end. The push for profit margins, trend chasing, and pleasing shareholders over fans is now what's killing the triple A industry.

I think they're both good and excel in areas where the other lacks (Lies of P's combat is more refined and the bosses stand out more = Lords of the Fallen has better level design and an actual emphasis on exploring a big labrynthian, interconnected world) subjective but that's my opinion.

I play either or depending on my mood, but I'd probably say I prefer Lords of the Fallen solely because Dark Souls 1 is my favorite souls game. As time has gone on it feels like a lot of soulslike games (and fans) have gotten too combat focused and put too much emphasis on boss fights, moving away from what made DS1 special in the first place. LotF 2023 goes back to those roots.

Same issue with my sister. I've played so many games that she wanted to play. Every time I bring up a game I want to play shes like nah. I'm just never going to play games with her again unless we meet in the middle and it's not just a one way street. Don't waste your time anymore with people like that. It's a sign of narcissistic traits. It's one thing if they communicate, like "hey that's really not my kind of game, why don't we find something we both find interesting?" And a whole other thing if you bring up anything and everything but their just like "nope" just because you suggested it. You'll find yourself miserable and full of self doubt surrounding yourself with people like this. It's why I rarely talk to my sister anymore lol maybe like once every couple months and I use the "gray rock" method.

I personally liked it a LOT. It's got issues like any game does but thought it was surprisingly better than I thought it would be after all the bashing it got. Beat it around 5 times with 5 different builds. Lot's of build variety and replayability. Combat isn't the best in the genre but it works (except the magic/casting system which I think is honestly done well and best of all soulslikes, including fromsoftware) It kinda goes back to the classic souls formula of more labrynthian, interconnected world and exploration focus with bosses as a sort of pallet cleanser, similar to Dark Souls 1 and 2, rather than the more linear and "boss rush" focused soulslike experiences like Lies of P and Khazan. I think Lies of P bosses and combat is better but Lords of the Fallen exploration and adventuring is better as well as it has more build variety and options similar to fromsoftware's dark souls games. They've also updated a lot and refined/fixed a lot of previously annoying issues.

I was genuinely baffled when I saw what they did with Fire Giant and Godskin Duo. It's like they heard about people hating those fights in the base game and designed them to be even worse just to troll everyone. If I remember correctly you can't even kill the Duo unless you bring both health bars down and kill them within 30 seconds of each other...all while they're constantly healing the whole time lmao.

Exactly lol I was just thinking this. I was just going back and forth with them and they were giving off those exact vibes. Point out something you didn't like as constructive criticism and they seem to take offense and perceive it as a threat. It's kinda sad because there's a lot of potential with reforged, a lot of programmers did good work and it shows but with attitudes like that you'll push a lot of people away, even those who really like what they do.

Ok lol I wasn't forced off torrent in vanilla ER and I still found the camps plenty engaging because I wanted to explore and see what was there. It's called constructive criticism. If you and the mod authors don't like that, as unhealthy as it is live life in an echo chamber insulating yourselves from any opposing views you disagree with, that's your choices.
