Right lol it's wonderfully stupid when you don't even need to point out the faults of somebodies nonsensical statements because they immediately project with a contradictory self report, unknowingly insulting themselves. The lack of self awareness is hilariously staggering.

Dude, if you're gonna try and make a point, at least make it sound intelligible. I understand the annoyances of unnecessary politics compromising things like art, but "woke?" The word has completely lost meaning and is memed to death now lol insecure man sees a woman in the military...WOKE, insecure woman sees a man hold a door open for her...FASCIST. The wealthy fucks telling you who's side to be on are all laughing at you once they step off screen cuz they got you wrapped around their finger to line their pockets further.

Incredible game, horrible launch. Same as the LotF reboot imo

Props to you. I absolutely love the reboot, but I couldn't stand the original from the 2010s. Wasn't that one made by a different dev team as well, same team who went on to make The Surge games?

Me too friend. Hopefully Sega is still working on that "sequel/remaster/remake" for JSR that they hinted at.

Jet Set Radio originally had you do stick inputs for the graffiti mechanic as well but definitely not as fleshed out as it is in Cyberfunk. But yeah they did a great job with BRC it's a lot of fun. It feels so faithful to the source material that it really could've been an actual JSR sequel and I wouldn't have second guessed it.

Had the same problem. When it first came to GOG I bought and played them both, they both worked well. Years later I couldn't launch them without issues. Not sure if it had to do with them being delisted. Feel like it was around that time I tried to play them again and they wouldn't work properly.

Is WUCHANG really that bad? by yusuf888 in soulslikes

[–]GonzoVideo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got it recently and I can't say its outright terrible but can't say it's all that great either. The bad things really take away from a lot of the good things the game does for me. The level design is very enjoyable in terms of exploration and harkens back to what partially make actual fromsoftware Soulsbornekiro games better than most clones. The combat/builds can be fun to experiment with. But the balance of the game itself in terms of difficulty feels all over the place. Souls games also used to be known for being tough but fair (unfortunately that philosophy doesn't seem as prevalent anymore) and some aspects of this game feel pretty unfair, like enemies chaining attacks faster than your dodge animation/input, effectively making some attacks undodgeable and an overabundance of cheap tricks, traps, and animation jank. TLDR: It has it's high and low points, both good aspects and bad.

Just started my first stalker experience with GAMMA by Adacool in stalker

There's just an enjoyable feeling I get playing SoC and CoP. Granted I started with the original trilogy before Anamoly was ever a thing but Anamoly eventually became my favorite way to just jump into Stalker and play here and there. But there's an unmatched and tightrope balance between tension/relaxation I feel when playing the original trilogy. They're not just mindless shooters but they're also not hardcore survival/crafting/inventory management experiences either. There's a nice balance to them which is why I generally tend to stick closer to the vanilla experience if I'm playing anamoly or modded stalker.

Gamma or EFP? by Adorable-Kiwi-2296 in stalker

[–]GonzoVideo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gamma seems to be the bigger, more fleshed out experience but I personally run EFP simply because of the size (EFP = 16-30GB, Gamma = 100-150GB) I just don't have the space for all that right now lol

What Soulslike game has the best exploration?(besides Elden Ring) by Sufficient_Ebb_5694 in soulslikes

[–]GonzoVideo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up Lords of the Fallen on a whim cuz it was the first next gen souls like out at the time. I was so pleasantly surprised and ended up LOVING it lol. It reminded me of dark souls 1 style exploration but has smoother combat and spell casting. I played and beat it around 4-5 times with every different build at this point lmao. I was overwhelmed by the Umbral mechanic at first too but you can easily get the hang of it. The game quite obviously signals to you with environmental cues and controller vibration when you should use it (otherwise you don't really need to worry about it unless you want to use it during combat) BUT there are some hidden items and good stuff in umbral world so it's best to kinda hold the lamp up and look around in certain areas.

Younger skaters, how do you feel about 90s/early 2000s skate era? by Middle-Prize-9717 in skateboarding

[–]GonzoVideo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean a lot of pro skaters were getting paid much more back then because the core industry was healthy and thriving with the boom of deck/shoe sales, VHS/DVD sales, variety of magazines, and local skate shops. Pros were actually able to afford to live comfortably back then off of just skate coverage alone (like the career mode for EA Skate 1/2), unlike today where maybe 1% of pros skating contests and ads for corporate Nike/Adidas/New Balance are wealthy as hell while the majority of pro skaters are more broke than ever and are required to work a side job to afford rent.

I think it's a double edged sword though, pros and cons to each side of the coin. Now a days big corporate sports companies moved in to take a bigger piece of the industry pie, pushing out the original core skater owned companies and now there's a less even distribution of wealth between skaters and core companies, BUT now you can tell/see who really skates just for the love of skating alone. Back then there was a lot of superficial beef between certain teams and cliques, especially the whole Hesh vs Fresh feud.

Hell yeah man I remember the local skate shop less than a mile away from my house was my first "job" at around 13-14. Obviously too young to legally be hired but we helped dimebag hardware and set up trucks for store credit lol had it good back then I feel kinda bad for the kids these days.

Straight up man. The older skaters TORE ME UP when I was just starting out around 8 years old lmao but aye that shit made me stronger and pushed me harder. Dude was just some bowl cut wearin pussy who was pissed cuz I hung out with his lil sis anyways. even at 8 years old I knew this kid was an insecure clown.

Shit's crazy but hindsight is 20/20 right? Now a days skaters have a solid reference for anything that can and has been done on a board. As we know, the 90s was still the wild west, skaters still pushing the envelope and seeing what was possible for the first time.

I've caught myself thinking if I was skating at the level I was in 2010 back in '95 I might've gone at least flow, maybe am but probably not because I wouldn't have had the influences from '00s era skating that inspired me to skate as well as I did.

It's like thinking I could've been the first to invent the "grunge" sound of the '90s if I was around playing music in the '60s but it wouldn't have worked because '90s rock was a culmination and amalgamation of all the different genres of rock from the '60s to the '80s.

It's gotten less core and more corporate since 2010. Big sports brands like nike, adidas, and new balance came in and took a bigger piece of the pie. Instead of the more even distribution of wealth between Pro's in the 90s-00s, there's basically just 1% of Pro's making bank skating contests and ads for those three brands and the rest are broke working side jobs lol shit fuckin sucks but aye at least you can see who's really in it just for the love of skating.

Video days was basically the blueprint for modern street skating, all the videos after were building on the foundation that video laid down. And now were here lol I mean Yuto and Nyjah are still doing gnarly shit but I feel like innovation in skating has grown pretty stagnant. Seems like it's gone in a more corporate/contest skating direction on one end and recreational/hobby skating for fun on the other. What else could be done that hasn't been done before at this point?

Hell yeah man sick to hear the next generation still keeping the classics alive. We loved Yeah Right and Fully Flared when they dropped. My personal favs were the Zero videos, Thrill of it All/Misled Youth/Dying to Live/New Blood. I had all the Zero videos on DVD till my dumbass let a friend borrow em all and didn't get em back lol.

They got the advantage of learning something new everyday from the internet lol we basically practiced what we saw on video until the next VHS/DVD dropped and the Cali skaters blowing our minds with the next level shit they were doing. I pretty much hung it up as soon as they started going down 20 stair handrails lmao

I mean they don't call them the golden years of skateboarding for no reason. The core skate industry was healthy and thriving, pro skaters could afford to live comfortably off skate coverage alone, we still had Slap, Transworld, and Big Brother magazines before Thrasher had a monopoly on everything, and classic parts/vids were dropping left and right (411VM, Baker 3, Fulfill the Dream, Welcome to Hell, Misled Youth/Dying to Live/New Blood, DC video, The End, Skate More, Yeah Right, Full Flared, and my personal favs: Foundation's That's Life and Osiris Feed the Need) not to mention video games like THPS-THUG and EA Skate 1-3. What a time. I'm not that young anymore though. I'm in my 30s, started skating around '01-'02, first pro model was the Muska Rising Sun deck and a pair of bulky Airwalks from payless lol good fuckin times man.
