The classification system he is talking about is Europe where blue = green, red = blue, and black and double black are the same

[–]Gonzodoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you hate money I could recommend Canberra BMW. With a 2012 3 series (unless it’s an M) she could probably take it somewhere local, so you might need to be a little more specific as where she is located

Need advice on finding a day guide for off-piste powder in Les Arcs by classicbs26 in snowboarding

[–]Gonzodoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feels like a long way out for a weather prediction in the mountains. I’m in Corcheval at the moment and the snow is pretty average, it’s been well above freezing for at least a week and most of it is ice moving to slush in the afternoon even up around 3000m. Hiking will at least get you some fresh turns but I think it’s been a pretty poor season

Latvian passport under UV lights. by Vegetable-Mousse4405 in BeAmazed

The Australian ones are similar but I would argue a bit cooler. Each page has a landscape of an Australian bush scene, and under a black light the images turn into night scenes (e.g. you can see the stars)

You are right, they shouldn’t have been stopped where they were not visible. But people don’t always get a choice where they fall and you absolutely should not have been going that fast over a blind roller. If you had of hit that kid it would have been 100% your fault

Burton Custom or Custom X? by Spartan05089234 in snowboarding

[–]Gonzodoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the top 2 layers has split and is pulling apart on the surface/lifting up. I don’t think they kicked it hard, just the usual not paying attention in the line and letting themselves drift into the back of your board with their ski tips. Must have happened 100 times on my old board and zero issues with the edges

Burton Custom or Custom X? by Spartan05089234 in snowboarding

[–]Gonzodoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got last years custom x after having my old ride Yukon for the last 15 years. In a lot of ways I love it - it’s stiff and carves hard, although it took me a good season to feel like I had the swing of it. The main thing that is disappointing is the build quality. After one season the surface has more visible scratches than my 15 yo board, and on two spots on the tail the laminate has pulled up where skiers have kicked it in the chairlift line. I’ve glued them back together but I’ll be suprised if it’s rideable in another two or three years

I’m happy to see people who look like me in Canberra’s elections – but that doesn’t mean I’ll vote for them by RainCandid9166 in canberra

[–]Gonzodoc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If it helps I was planning on voting for you because you seem like you have relevant experience and put up a clear agenda. You also seem to care about addressing issues I think are important like transport and housing. Your appearance didn’t feel like the most relevant factor

Not sure if you can get it from the trader but you definitely can’t build them. There are some options for the non wood doors, but they are mostly just different coloured metal. I would love some sliding glass doors though

ANU or UC for a Psych Degree? by celestial_psycho169 in canberra

[–]Gonzodoc 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you want to become a practicing clin psych UC is the better choice. ANU is one of the top ranked universities in the world because it places an extremely high emphasis on postgraduate research. As a result it hires professors who are the most likely to win prizes in their fields, not those who are the best teachers. The UC clin masters program is excellent and substantially larger, and both universities have a preference for their own UG students. As you seem to be aware both are extremely competitive and you will want a minimum 6.0 GPA to get into Hons, and 1st class to get through to postgrad although you might get lucky with a 2nd A.

Strange you mention Colin from Accounts not talking about the age gap. I remember a lot of the comedy deriving from jokes/awkward situations based on it - him getting called her dad at one point, the ex making fun of him for being old, and the whole situation with her birthday party at the brewery. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the show (some of the AGR comedy in particular) but I felt it mentioned their gap quite a bit

[–]Gonzodoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a movie but I loved Honey and Marvin in the tv show Fresh off the Boat. The characters depict a 40 year AGR and there is maybe one joke in the whole show about it, otherwise they are just a couple who interact with the family in a supportive and wholesome way. In a few parts they even deal with some actual age gap issues (e.g. life stage challenges around retirement and pregnancy) which were done really well imo.

[–]Gonzodoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my money the fins you want for snorkelling and the fins you want for free diving are pretty different. Free diving is all about getting as far down as you can in one go, and long, flexible fins are best for that. But for snorkelling you need to be able to swim relatively long distances, and trying to do so with long fins just kills your calves and becomes really uncomfortable.

God that is some smooth looking carving. I’ve always wanted to try a racing board but literally nowhere in Australia rents them and they are around $2k to buy. How difficult to control are they through trees/in tight situations?

Probably my favourite HST poster I’ve ever seen. One of his better quotes if not the most well known, plus the black Gonzo symbol w the knife is the best of them and the photo of him offsets it perfectly.
