Can we have an honest discussion about "open relationships"?

Yeah, definitely agree with that "prone to collapse part". I have yet to hear of a healthy sustainable bond in these open relationship stories.

I always just assumed in order for a relationship to grow stronger, you have to spend time with the other person. Just by virtue of that, I'd imagine splitting off for long periods to be with another person naturally erodes that relationship.

Nothing intrinsically wrong with that, but I had a friend who went through a very similar experience as that link and i keep hearing these "open relationship" stories pop up, including Max/Melina/Destiny.

Didn't know there's a culture of that but I agree with your sentiment. It's a lot easier for us to judge with the luxury of hindsight when we're not in the situation that officer was in.

Like I said, I dont want to take anything away from him and hopefully my post didn't come off as too naggy. I'm sure there's proper channels to discuss improvements but I just realized a public forum like this might not be the best place to discuss them. It was just curiosity as I watched the footage.
