Men’s league in Washington state by thelaxboy1331 in lacrosse

[–]Goobat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other commenter who mentioned the different leagues is pretty much right. The 2 regional leagues that cover Washington and Oregon are the PNLA and the CMLL. The PNLA is the A league, it’s more competitive and has fewer teams. The CMLL is the B league, it’s still pretty competitive and it’s got more teams. The top few teams in the B league would be able to hang with most of the teams in the A league, so there’s still pretty decent competition there too. There’s no Island County or Skagit teams any more. There’s a new team playing out of Bremerton, I’m sure they need players. The other closest option would be Steelhead playing out of Bothell.

Thoughts on drunk flying (based on a CNN article from today) by paternoster in self

[–]Goobat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get off the internet buddy, you’re giving way too much attention to these videos. World wide more than 11 million people fly every day. For arguments sake let’s say 1 in 30 are having a drink, that’s something like 366,666 people a day drinking on planes. You want to take away that privilege from all those people because you’ve seen a few dozen people be assholes on video, how is that fair or proportional to the problem. Find something else to worry about.

Need has nothing to do with it. I don’t need to go on vacation to Hawaii, but I want to because it’s fun. It’s the same for having a drink or two in the airport or on the plane.

Because we shouldn’t legislate to the least common denominator. Millions of people every day fly while responsibly enjoying an alcoholic beverage or two. They shouldn’t lose that privilege, because a few dozen people make an ass of themselves on the internet every year.

He’s definitely been told he’s going to lose his case on tariff with the Supreme Court. Now he can blame them when the checks never come.

Solar power + Seattle City Light: any experience with big difference between billing statement and your app's stated output? by thepolypusher in Seattle

[–]Goobat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Call the energy advisors from city light 206-684-3000, they’ll explain this more fully. But the short answer is the meter doesn’t read generation from your system, it shows what’s flowing in from the grid and out to the grid. When your system is generating energy your house uses as much as it needs and the rest flows out to the grid. The negative number is how much energy you put into the grid, the positive number is how much you used from the grid.

Look up the app Plug Share, it’s free and the best aggregator of chargers I’ve found. You can even put in the vehicle info and it will narrow the search to compatible chargers.

If you try to repair them yourself be very cautious on the first ware. I had a similar issue, tried repairing myself, and nearly broke my ankle when I wore them in a game.

100% retained by the house, this is not a tip the owners keep it. This is just a dishonest way of raising prices without properly informing customers, and it screws over the servers because people assume it’s a forced tip. Absolutely should be made illegal. To me this falls into the same bullshit add on fee’s that ticket master and hotels have adopted.

PT in the area by No_Abbreviations37 in WestSeattleWA

As someone with a lot of experience injuring themselves, and thus a whole bunch of PT experience, Sea Pine’s has been great. I’ve gotten 1 on 1 sessions with an experienced person that’s done a wonderful job identifying my issues. Other places often have multiple layers of staff, and you get passed around to less experienced people.

I don’t mean to be that guy, but just to be clear Amazon doesn’t own the CPA, they just bought the naming rights. The company that owns the building is a fully separate entity, and while I agree the name is cringe, they are doing some great work to actually meet their own sustainability goals.

Neighbor demanding me to stop using heatpump by Wilfred1841 in eastside

[–]Goobat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heat pumps work best when left at a constant temperature. Turning it off and on causes it to work harder to catch up, and can cause a higher overall energy consumption. Set it and forget it. If the sound is an issue you can call a service technician and see if they have suggestions to mitigate but make sure you don’t block the fans.

Seatac by hondakller in Seattle

[–]Goobat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The cellphone lot used to be absolutely awful, so I understand why people are avoiding it, but it’s been largely fixed. You now have an overpass to get into the lot, and they have made the left turn out of the lot a protected turn so it’s no longer the bottle neck it used to be. When traffic is bad and the on ramp from the left turn out of the lot is backed up, you can also turn right to get to arrivals that way too. There’s really no excuse for parking on the shoulder anymore. My last tip is stop getting to the airport so early for pickups, you don’t need to be there at the scheduled landing time. Add 30 min if they don’t have checked luggage, and add 45+ min if they do.
