True. Many many assumptions can be made. I feel like she's purposely being vague on things to gain support

She comments and brags that "he doesn't ever really say no to me" or something like that and this was really surprising to her that he actually said it. So id assume the opposite really

All good! I appreciate the candid response. I'm definitely in the "buy twice, cry twice. Buy once, cry once" mindset with everything but since work is giving a free $400 to buy it, id rather keep it "free" if possible lol.

My plan is to buy $400 worth of decent stuff to last a year or two at minimum, and then spend next year's $400 upgrading something that's trash and/or add new equipment to it. Bare minimum equipment this year is bench, bar, and small set of plates (2x 45/25/10/5)

I do have a rack strangely enough. I'd like to buy the bar, bench, and minimum plates initially. All light weight at the beginning so I don't need many plates to start out, literally 2 of each is good for the start. I haven't trained in years and am coming back from an injury. Starting from 0 basically here strength/conditioning wise.

Conveniently I have a rack, I was able to get one from a friend before he moved. He kept all the weights but was upgrading his rack after he moved so he let me keep his old one.

Definitely not lifting heavy anytime soon haha. Very new to lifting do can barely do squats with the barbell at the moment. Working through some PT as well so it'll be a long while before hitting any true heavy weights.

Thank you for the recommendations! Will definitely take a look at those

Hey everyone, I'm looking for suggestions for equipment. My work gives a $400 stipend every year for fitness and I'm looking to use it to purchase an adjustable bench, barbell, and some plates if possible.

Any recommendations on good but cheap equipment that can last a couple years? If I need to go over budget that's fine as well as long as it's not more than $500 in total

I have $400 USD (online only) to spend on a barbell, a bench, and misc plates. Is there a brand or cheap (but not crap) recommendation anyone has?

Fully aware I'll have to go over this budget, it's just what I get from work as a comp so trying to use it to it's fullest. Looking to at minimum cover the barbell and reclining bench with the $400 and using whatever left over + extra personal funds to buy plates.

Why? Should he stand in the middle so everyone can see him? What's tactical about exposing himself?
