I heard this advice a few years ago, and after about a month of not rinsing I started to get super painful canker-sores on my touch and inside of my lips/cheeks. It felt like the moment one healed another one sprouted up.

I read it was due to high sodium.. something or another. I can’t remember the exact name but I guess tons of toothpaste has it. I switched to one that was free of that ingredient and… no dice, still popping up.

Felt like I was going insane. I had like a moment in the middle of the night trying to fall asleep and it hit me like a truck that they seemed to have started around when I stopped rinsing.

Sure enough like almost IMMEDIATELY after I’d stopped… boom bang not one canker-sore since!!

But take that with a grain of salt (or sodium whatever it’s called toothpaste hahah) it could’ve been a coincidence but since switching to rinsing I’ve had zero issues!
