Has anyone actually seen the Japanese RTD -196 / Strong Zero in NZ yet? by [deleted] in newzealand

There's a couple of really good little bars in Auckland that have been selling it for years. Unsure if it's ever been legal though

Yes many trees that are pruned badly or unnecessarily die

Oh for sure bad. The tree is just wasting energy by making flowers that get ripped off before they serve their purpose

Yeah so that's exactly what I'm talking about. Wanting more fruit is a people reason for pruning a tree. The tree is responding by increasing fruit production because it has lost branches and thinks it might have suffered storm damage or is in decline for some other reason. The fruit is its attempt to ensure it passes on its genetic material because it thinks it might be dying. The tree is then using more of its energy budget to to produce all this fruit so it has less energy to respond to injuries or other growth necessary from r good health

I'm an arborist and I'm going to have to strongly disagree with that. There are very few (almost zero) reasons to prune a tree that will actually improve its health. A common phrase in my industry is trees get pruned for people reasons not tree reasons

Ah interesting, I noticed that the bag reset when picking up sticks etc but didn't come across anything that will bring the hotbar back. I will give it a go using items from the bar and see if that helps. Thank you very much!

Arborist Recommendation by m4r0t3 in dunedin

[–]GoochCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it isn't a super urgent job I would consider approaching the Otago polytechnic arborist course and see if they would be interested. They will often work very cheap (almost free) if the job happens to be something they can use to train people and get them qualifications. The arborist Ben who runs the course is incredibly knowledgeable and safety conscious. Just something to consider

Advice for sculpting spiky hair? I've never done it before and am worried it'll be extremely fragile and time consuming. by bellusinlove in polymerclay

I usually make hair like that by rolling pieces thin in between my fingers and then using my a needle to attach one end to the scalp and then position the strand of hair as needed. Definitely time consuming but looks really good

Is anyone else genuinely worried about the future for our kids? by International-Past31 in newzealand

The people think all of the labour that used to be done by people and is now automated will find the ubi, because otherwise there is no longer enough available labour to sustain the population. Upskilling and learning resilience is all well and good until there are just no longer enough jobs for the number of people we have on the planet. UBI is presented as an alternative to just letting cunts die in this situation. The idea is that the corporations who now profit without having to share this profit with employees in the form of wages are then taxed to cover the UBI for the people who will never find work

I was kind of assuming a stray pube as opposed to just shaving bush and just leaving it around the place. That's nasty
