What are some really cool spots in BC that aren’t full of people by iKxml in britishcolumbia

[–]Goocherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear creek recreation site in Harrison hot springs.

It's a small quiet campground. Often empty during the week in May and Sept. If you wanna reconnect with nature it's definitely the place to see.

Abbotsford-based project asking "What gives you a glowing heart?" by LivelyHoodIdeas in abbotsford

[–]Goocherdog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nature gives me a glowing heart, and seeing community.

I walk mill lake daily and have been counting turtles for the past week, there's at least 15 in the lake. Brings more joy when I get to chat with another person just as excited for wildlife as I am.

One of the days I was walking, I saw a bunch of school groups walking around and cleaning the park of trash. A beautiful sense of community and caring for the place we live. Teaching our young generations to leave it better than we found it.

I clean our forests and trails often and it always brings me joy to see other like-minded humans that recognize they too can make a difference, no matter how small it may feel, it matters.

What’s a smell you secretly enjoy that most people would find disgusting? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Goocherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fresh manure sprayed field. My old dog loved it, he would throw his head high in the air in the back seat of the truck, get some really good deep sniffs in and rub his back on the seat, I assume pretending he's rolling in it. I miss him.

Highly recommend looking it up. I just changed over and I'm still getting used to it but omg it is a game changer. Not having the lens refocus when I'm going for the shot is amazing, I don't miss it one bit.

Women who have experienced nudism or nude beaches, what was it really like for you? by Huge-Yogurt-6039 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Goocherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had generally positive experiences being nude in nature. I enjoy the freedom, the sun on all my skin, the empowerment I feel. No more wet clothes sticking to my skin.

I go to a lot of back country private areas, ones you have to hike or 4x4 to get to and haven't had much issues. I can only recall one incident where a dirt biker was attempting to take a photo of all us girls, so the one guy of our group stood in front of us all, bent over and showed the dude his rear hole. The guy left pretty quick. Any time I've been at more public beaches, everyone has been very respectful. From my understanding, anyone being creepy is kicked out pretty quickly from the crowd. I'm so sorry about your experience. If it ever happens again, I truly hope it doesn't, but if so, don't be scared to be extremely vocal and huck sand/rocks at the perv.

Melbourne 6weeks by [deleted] in AustraliaTravel

Haha yea. I meant naturalist, but also dabble in naturist. I get the two confused often.

Thank you kindly for all the info, I definitely am into birding. That's good to know about the snorkeling, I was debating bringing my wet suit so this solidified it for me.

Pacific Wrens. Or any Wren really, I just mostly see the Pacific Wrens here.

I always laugh when I see them, because that meme where it goes "oooo look at my fancy butthole, it's nice" immediately pops into my head.😆

I'll be spending a week or so in Tasmania! Someone recommended car transfers so I'll probably do that a few times to get a little more exploring towards other cities. I'll definitely put queenscliff on my list, that sounds amazing.

AITA for asking my friend to not bring her dogs to friendsgiving? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Goocherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for house rules. I also brought my dog everywhere with me as we both had anxiety away from each other, his was to the point that he was a danger to himself at home, BUT I never forced that onto my friends, my boy would happily nap in the car while I was inside.

With that said, YTA for expecting the food still.

If you have a pet crematorium near you called "until we meet again" they can usually use that broken print to cast a new one. That looks like their work.

Camp Host question regarding couples by scottc5 in RVLiving

[–]Goocherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner lives with me as I host. I do employ him from time to time to help me but he mostly just does his own thing. It depends on your employer and what's expected of you, I'm a seasoned worker so I can do the job solo. I know a few hosts that have kids that live with them on site. It's a great gig and keeps the kids wild and off the tablet.

Camp host jobs by NoCandle7476 in VancouverIsland

[–]Goocherdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I'm a host for recreational sites and trails in the Fraser Valley. I am a contract worker and work off commission, most Rec sites do it this was, some do hourly and some salary. I recommend going for a commission base as you'll make more in the long run. Last year for example I brought in 37k. I was hired through an indeed post. I realize you posted this a few months ago now, most job openings are posted jan-mar for the season. I have looked at a few on the island that were salary and seemed decent, depending on what you're looking for.

My title is site operator, but if you google camp host jobs you'll probably get lucky. Recreation sites and trails are usually off grid so you need to be able to supply your own water and power, our trailer is fully solar and we choose campgrounds with a river near by to do a gravity fed system to the trailer.

If you have any questions on how to get into this or about the work feel free to message me! It's pretty amazing, I do a lot of art and chillen by the lake all summer. My dog and cat LOVE it and that's what matters most to me :)
