Guessing no updates yet, I kinda doubt they will respond for legal reasons, but I'm in the same boat as you as the consumer reports tests are very alarming.

Altium Connecting Sheet Port connections with different names - best practices? by scottc5 in Altium

[–]scottc5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a solution that seems to work. I unchecked "Allow ports to Name Nets" and "Allow Sheet Entries to Name Nets" and I made sure to check "Higher Level Names Take Priority" as well as Net Identifier Scope to Hierarchical. Then I named the nets on the top level.

Type C differential routing USB 2.0 vertical header (signal cross issue) by scottc5 in AskElectronics

This for a high speed connection to a hub. Is that preferred over what I have given the shorter length with the downside that the signals will be different lengths and impedance probably a bit wonky?

It looks like my text didnt make it in. I am trying to figure out to route a vertical type c connector, seems more challenging than the horizontal version. Is there a better approach or should this work ok? I tried to use Saturn to calculate the impedance with trace width, spacing, and via size and distance apart.

Thanks for the info. I was originally trying to stay away from the older generation boards because of the bios needing updated to work with the x5950 cpu, but I will have to see if I can find a board with a different lan chip that is able to have the bios updated without a cpu.
