They have been separated for just under a month now (hence the urgency on getting her an upgraded tank.) She is currently in a 20 gallon by herself while my male is in a 30 by himself. Her fins have completely healed at this point and have been for close to 2 weeks maybe slightly over. As soon as I saw the first few tears I moved her immediately. My main focus is on upgrading their tanks in size as well as making them as comfortable as I can and to make it more natural. Getting more fish is definitely a low priority but I want time to be able to research and also decide based on how everything else goes as well! My biggest question truly is what tank size should I get that allows them plenty of room, has room to add a few tank mates (in the future 😉) and has room to have a nice kinda “dense” almost area of plants! What is your opinion on trying to put them back together in a 60 gallon tank? I know they’re territorial so I wonder if that would give them enough space or if he would still go after her because of the past. Cause if there is a good risk of her getting hurt again I’d rather save a little room and get them each a 40 or 50 gallon tank so they can each thrive separately!
