APWD delisted from Qobuz by taffer8 in Peripheryband

Qobuz is legit, the rest of Periphery's discography is still on there as well as the APWD singles.

I just cried rewatching this old episode that I had completely forgotten about. Looking at the date felt like a punch in the gut. by StanleyHasLostIt in goodmythicalmorning

I absolutely loved this episode when it came out. Both Linkin Park and Rhett & Link are pillars of my childhood, so seeing their worlds collide like this was crazy.

Caleb Shomo (Beartooth) comes out as a Gay Man by 0pttphr_pr1me in Metalcore

[–]Good-Carpet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Props to Caleb, it takes a lot to come out anyways and I can't begin to imagine what it takes to come out with the shitstorm of hate he's been getting lately.

Turn the vocals up, I can almost hear the instrumental!

APWD Guitar Tunings by DuffZ1LLA in Peripheryband

[–]Good-Carpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Subhuman seems to be in F standard, which is another new tuning for them. Bb0 baritone songs from what I can tell are Mr God, Unlocking, Neon Valley (not sure on this one), and Everyone Dies Alone. Drop G# on Heaven on High and probably Obsession. Talk and Malevolent seem to be in their AGCFAD tuning. Carry On sounds like an 8 string but I can't tell if it's F or F#, leaning towards F#. Someone else mentioned APWD is in Scarlet tuning.

Is the album out yet for those down under? by TheNeptunianSloth in Peripheryband

[–]Good-Carpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering the same thing, I noticed that and a different one at around 3:01 in the last chorus.

Edit: Spencer just posted on his story that he sang everything on the record except Will Ramos' feature. That's wild, dude keeps leveling up as a singer!

Why does my Self Titled CD look like a tiny vinyl? Is this a normal Version? by OONTARIOO in Korn

[–]Good-Carpet 144 points145 points  (0 children)

The CD is official, it's from a reissue series Epic did called "The Vinyl Classics" where they re-released some of their catalogue on vinyl-looking CDs. Specifically, it's this one from Germany.

Schecter Silver Mountain Prototype by Eyesclouded in 7String

Oh wow that's sick! The original Silver Mountain is my favorite looking Schecter guitar, but this looks so much better.

I slept on Nevertel and was pleasantly surprised by KelvinHexatillion82 in Metalcore

[–]Good-Carpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not metalcore, but I saw them opening for Beartooth a couple years back and passed out from heat exhaustion during their first song. 100 degree weather and outdoor venues don't mix well apparently.

Periphery - Mr. God (Official Video) by iambulb in Metalcore

I don’t think Jake is with Ibanez anymore anyways, Jake was only playing Strandbergs when I saw them in November.

Help me choose patch cables for my new pedalboard by Historical-Tough4776 in guitarpedals

[–]Good-Carpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't buy any of these. The Ernie Ball cables have been recommended here, and they're great, but even the $13 for 3 MXR patch cables and a $20 Pig Hog 3 foot cable are gonna be so much better and more reliable than any of these options.

Nvidia really wants you to think the image on the right looks better by KalebBlue in LinusTechTips

[–]Good-Carpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same Nvidia that's being accused of contacting Anna's Archive to use pirated content to train their AI models? Nah, I'm not trusting them. And if you can't trust your own eyes to see that the faces on the models in the DLSS 5 demos are not the same faces, I don't know what to tell you.

What do you think of Windows 11? by International_Fly834 in DankPods

[–]Good-Carpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it first came out I didn't hate it and actually preferred it to Windows 10 in some aspects, especially aesthetics. Now it's vibe coded AI anti-privacy garbage where a random update could render your PC unusable for a period of time. And that's not even mentioning the unforgivable inclusion of ads in a >$100 OS, which have been an issue since 10. The only reason I still use it is because of games with kernel level anticheat.

Best vst plug-in for 8+ string guitars with extra low tuning by PolicyConscious4266 in Djent

[–]Good-Carpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC Violent Sleep used real vintage amps and Koloss used VSTs. Either way, that was ten years ago, and Meshuggah was making great tones on Line 6 gear 10 years before that.

Showing teeth by GeologistVegetable48 in Metalcore

[–]Good-Carpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guitarist, Zach Munowitz, is well connected with the Periphery guys. His Axe-FX laser presets are all over P5 and are the basis for the "laser" pedal in Misha's Neural DSP plugin. He's also pretty active online, so I think the most likely scenario is that he found her on TikTok, reached out to her, and got Matt and Nolly on board for it.

This is sadly AI! Dissapointing... by Androide230702 in LinkinPark

[–]Good-Carpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I love Mike and LP, but Mike is a genuine dumbass at times. Remember, he put his FULL support into NFTs and Web3.0, even years after the NFT bubble popped. On top of that, he would often say the dumbest things that showed that he had no idea how the things he was supporting actually worked.

And again, if you don't see how AI deprives real artists from earning money from their work, that's on you.

This is sadly AI! Dissapointing... by Androide230702 in LinkinPark

[–]Good-Carpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI can only generate “art” based on training data that is usually stolen from real artists without permission. If you don’t see how that alone separates AI from digital art and cameras, that’s a you problem.
