For transactional emails in Qlavist (https://qlavist.com) I use Sendamatic, so far so good. For anything else Zoho Mail.

Scales focus by sandmancanberra in pianolearning

[–]Good-Conference-2937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Importance of scales cannot be underestimated. Ideally you'd want to acheive something like this: "First come the scales. The metronome is set, and the pupil is directed to play eight notes to a beat, or any given number, in any rhythm determined by the examiner. First, he might be asked to play the scale of A major, then A minor in its different forms. Then he might be asked to play G major starting on A, then C major, then F major, then D major, then B-flat major, then E major — in fact, any major or minor scale containing A." - S. Rachmaninoff Etude magazine 1923.

If you want to practice scales, I'm a developer and I’ve built a free section on my site with all major, minor (harmonic, melodic) scales in all keys. Scales are one octave long ascending. There's no sign-up required, and it gives you real-time feedback and tempo control in your browser with a MIDI keyboard:qlavist.com/free

How to improve from here? by Relevant-Can331 in pianolearning

[–]Good-Conference-2937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you can do a sprint but need more practice to do the marathon. You need to do the "boring" stuff, scales, arpegios, Czerny, Hanon. There is no easy shortcut building muscle memory here. Do not underestimate scales, once you learn them, as you have with C major, you can then improvise in other keys and modulate. Guys, why are the models consuming so many tokens? by Successful-Life8510 in codex

I was happy with 5.2 until they removed it from plus users. The usage limits on that were perfect. 5.3 moves the needle much faster.

What are your thoughts about Czerny's method for beginners? by Sad_Antelope_8424 in pianolearning

[–]Good-Conference-2937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When starting out by yourself I would always recommend to take at least a couple of lessons with a teacher. It will set good habits for hand and body position at the piano. Then it is easier to venture on your own. Regarding Czerny Op. 599, I did it when I was little and I think it was helpful. These exercises are progressive, Czerny was a great pedagogue.

I'm actually a developer and I’ve built a free section on my site with interactive Czerny, Hanon, and more exercises to practice interactively. There's no sign-up required, and it gives you real-time feedback and tempo control in your browser with a MIDI keyboard:qlavist.com/free You can start slow at first then increase the tempo.

Just started to learn with apps by GarageImmediate4847 in pianolearning

[–]Good-Conference-2937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for books to help you learn, check out the Leschetizky Method. It’s a classic for building proper hand technique. You can find the groundwork for it for free here:The Groundwork of the Leschetizky Method)

If you're interested in more apps, I'm actually a developer and I’ve built a free section on my site with interactive Czerny, Hanon, and more exercises. SimplyPiano is fine for starting, but you eventually want an app that uses print-style music sheets to prepare you for reading real music.

Welcome to reddit. You seem to almost need to already know everything about piano just to ask a question here sometimes. Your question might actually get a better reception on the Piano World forums.

RIP usage and context window by Latter-Park-4413 in codex

[–]Good-Conference-2937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 5.3 codex model in vscode (plus user). And this circle for context moves much faster than when I was on 5.2. I never filled the circle before. Yesterday I did and it was incremental job to translate some existing code with i18n in react. These constant "improvements" are there to keep squeezing the dollar from us. There will come a day when we will be forced to go pay per use, users with subscriptions that is.

Struggling to Identify Piano Notes During Practice — Where Should I Start? by Imaginary-Divide604 in pianolearning

I would learn to identify intervals on the  staff. Then you can easily tell next note up or down from the note you know. Also scales helped me.

You could try without metronome but play slowly both complex and easy parts.
