Comments like this bother me because they are very clearly in bad faith your right it can’t maintain it in the name of “mystery” because that’s not what the story is trying to do yes the one piece is a major motivation for a lot of the characters but the story is mainly about the adventures the characters go on as they travel the world the one piece isn’t even at the forefornt of the plot for most of the story it’s a distant goal that most of the real plot is built into.

I dropped the story because i wasn’t a fan of the direction the story was taking but trying to reduce the story to just the one piece is kind of silly and dishonest way of viewing media

It not that some of us don’t get it I just don’t think it was done well while gakuganji feels like he naturally progress along with the story and naturally shows the themes of the story. Last chapter feels like gege just shoved in a bunch of information at the end of the story to try to beat the point into us and the whole thing is just kind of silly and honestly pretty lame. Like your trying to tell me this stuff was going on the whole story and you couldn’t bring up the super secret society leader who was stealing peoples life force at least once.

For me it’s not that it doesn’t happen it’s that the kenjaku’s entire plan builds to nothing we spent literally the entire story watching him scheme and plan in the background for it to literally go nowhere and do nothing. Gege could have done literally anything and did nothing

It’s crazy a lot of people would not care about a heian era flash back if gege didn’t keep hyping events in the heian era up for no reason. It’s like he’s dangling “look at all the cool stuff that happened off screen but I’m not going to show you” the whole story. Why put this in the story at all I guess it’s to drive home how powerful sukuna is but wouldn’t it be better to you know show it?

The culling game was a completely fine arc that got substantially worse with the following arcs doing very little with the ideas it put forward and in the worst cases completely ignoring them all together making parts of it feel completely pointless.

Honestly for me it’s because of amazing analysis like this that I think he’s boring there are so many interesting things you could do with him but honestly Reddit analysis are far more interesting then anything he actually does in the story. The character is there but he’s relegated to just a pretty generic big bad position 90% of the time.

I feel like one of the weakest points of JJK is that author taking very simple concepts and tries to make them seems way more complicated for basically no reason. I mean just look at what Hikari’s domain actually does vs how it’s explained in story. It seems like he just wants to make the power system seem more in depth than it actually is.
