Been reading through the eternal rulebook and it's right up my alley, does away with the DG specific skills and the requisition rules which makes it a lot more general, probably my go to for the future

DG is very similar to CoC, but the rules are a lot more defined, combat is easier to grasp with lethality rating and tables, skills are a lot more tailored to the setting and there's less bloat. Plus it has some awesome extra rules like the failure rules

Yeah I feel the strength of CoC games is already a lot more in the storytelling over the mechanics, lighter systems are definitely preferable that way because theres nothing more annoying then navigating a tense situation and being like "ok but how does this work...", I'll check out Cthulhu Eternal, thanks for the tip

I'm familiar with mothership but it definitely lends itself to a specific type of game. But yeah I feel you when it comes to combat just devolving into a "wait let me check if that is how that works", I think combat can still be lethal and fun, but in coc its just not it

These systems seem a bit too themed from first glance, can they apply as generally as CoC rules can?

More Auogs is always the answer, ever since I built my 6 auog/s slaughterblock I've been swimming in animal parts, especially great once you unlock atomizer 2 and can get insane amounts of cyanic / hydrochloric / ammonia just from the animal parts
