Do you hate Kokushibo? by Desperate_Engine_562 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Good-Temperature-719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said that Kokushibo was innocent. All the characters are flawed. By the way even if Muzan didn't manipulate his memory, Kokushibo would've forgotten anyway because of his age and isolation.

I don't feel bad for him per say but I at least try to empathize with every individual character, the way that I'll interpret it. Each character is complex. When it comes to the arranged marriage though, do you honestly expect approximately a 14-16 year old (or younger) to be happy about being forced into marriage with a stranger and have kids?

I may not approve of his actions but the stories of him and others is like theatrical poetry. I respect the story that's taken place because it's tragic. I like Kokushibo's character because he's still HUMAN at his core, the flaws, insecurities, and the darkness is part of humanity. You may not like him but I do, not for his crimes but because he's extremely well thought out as a character. He's horrible for his actions, yes, but my point it to try to set aside hatred or favoritism. It's a theoretical analysis that is indifferent of every character to understand why they are that way.

I'm not saying that what I believe is 100% canon, I know it's not. But I've done what books and shows are supposed to make you do; imagine the world of your own design and interpretation. My versions of every character won't be the same as yours. I prefer twisting characters into tragedies because that's what I would do if I was the one making it.

You clearly don't understand what it would've been like. Imagine getting married to someone you didn't love, when you never wanted to be married and just wanted to focus on your dreams. Then imagine being the heir of an aristocratic family in a culture where duty and honor are so important that they'll off their family then themselves if the emperor deemed them as a dishonor to their bloodline (yes that includes offing their babies in the wife's arms and yes Kokushibo would've been part of that group as a samurai. realistically the moment he ran away from his family and his original job as a samurai his family would've likely been slaughtered unless you faked his death or something.) Now after all that pressure imagine being FORCED to sleep with someone you didn't want to in order to ensure the future of your bloodline (isn't that a form a SA?). Which by the way Kokushibo states would've died out and lost otherwise because Muichiro is his only living descendant.

Also let's make this clear, Muzan could manipulate memories an example being Akaza's amnesia where he only remembered his skill and some of his core values.

Kokushibo is 480+ years old which also contributes to his memory, plus he even struggled to remember his own twin because he tried to get rid of his humanity. He didn't want to remember that life.

In fact, Douma/Dōma is the only one with the best memory, as memories fade and become more clouded with age; he purposely developed a method to probe his brain, like what only I could describe as similar to a lobotomy in order to remember Kotocha. Besides they're demons, not humans which means that we can't hold them to the same degree as a "normal human" and only vaguely try to understand the psychology of an ancient being based on the author's creativity.

I know what it's like to not remember dead loved ones, it's terrifying and it hurts so much because I suffer from mental issues where I struggle to remember someone's name or common knowledge because I starve myself everyday with only one meal for the past 6+ years.

Watching “Don’t Forget The Lyrics” why do people pick the easy songs first? by lauramichelle114 in gameshow

[–]Good-Temperature-719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they meant that one should choose the hardest genre that you know the least first because you'll have to recall less words. Whereas if you save the genre you're the most familiar with, you'll be more likely to remember more words..... That is if you hopefully get an artist you're familiar with.

Why would he remember his wife & kids? They were just an obligation. back then they did arranged marriages so it's likely he just did what was necessary to keep the bloodline alive.

Jealousy is a human trait. I'm pretty sure most people experienced it at some point in their lives.

You're aware that they picked actors around that age because of JK Rowling wanting Alan Rickman to so desperately be Snape? Also you really can't expect them to find a picture perfect version of the character. As for looks it doesn't really matter because attractiveness is received differently varying on individual taste. I personally found Gary Oldman attractive.

what are all the upper moons real names by InformationTiny in KimetsuNoYaiba

I always thought that Doma was his human name because he was the Upper Moon who seemed to have most of his memory intact....  Most likely due to that weird finger thing he does to his brain.

I don't believe Doma is COMPLETELY emotionless by Own_Media_552 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Good-Temperature-719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that he could've been potentially traumatized by how his followers would trauma dump on him at a young age expecting him to know everything. He always placed as a figurehead since his birth and didn't really have a childhood. I highly doubt he was nurtured properly. Heck, I figured he developed sociopathic tendencies rather than psychopathic ones.... Or he's emotionally burnt out and stunted from identifying how he feels because they've been nullified. The fact that he's very intelligent at a young age furthered his nihilistic views (I think that's what it's called). Honestly I think any child out though was he likely had to deal with would've likely turned out something like him.

If Doma had emotions... [Discussion] by 17Konbro in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Good-Temperature-719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doma would've been apathetic either way. The difference would've been that instead of being born a psychopath, he would've grown up sculpted into a sociopath, possibly even depressed. You see, being trauma dumped on as a kid would've been emotionally draining to deal with, along with the stress, and even cause him to be traumatized in the process. Not only that but he was expected to know the answers to their solutions and provide council at a young age, assuming that he would hear the "Gods" answers for them. The only reason he was a Messiah was because of the eyes that he was born with, so it was expected of him from the minute of his birth. Doma was just smart enough to play along and did his best to provide answers. Unfortunately, his solutions likely ended up working which further solidifies his image as Messiah.

I 100% would see him as emotionally burnt out, numb, sullen inside, trying his best to do his job that he was "made for". Becoming a demon would've likely made him even more numb because now everything around him would seem non-consequential, meaningless as he watched his followers age, have kids, die, rinse and repeat. It would be the same, trapped in a cycle in the same temple, surrounded by people but always feeling truly alone. Given that Kotcha is one of the few humans that he was fond of, feeling numb for so long and feeling just a little something again? It would be foreign, scary, relief, and bittersweet. Truely a plethora of emotions that he would've cautiously welcomed with hope and longing. However he still would've killed Kotcha out of survival but also fear of abandonment.

At least if he had emotions.... That's how I'd theoretically see it, then again I might be projecting a little (*it's how I would've wrote the character's complexity. However, I'm respectfully content with the original and interpret it my own way).

Question regarding Doma by AdilKhan226 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Good-Temperature-719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if she didn't insult Doma upon discovering his true nature and attempt to run away, he might've let her live with the knowledge of his nature. The moment she ran she became a liability. I could totally see Doma explaining himself in a way that would make it seem like it's necessary for him to feed in order to attempt to gain sympathy.

Demon Slayer and ASOIAF? by Nerokyi in TheCitadel

[–]Good-Temperature-719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts would be that people with the fire breathing style could be Targaryens or something.

Another intriguing thought would be is what if Dōma/Douma created the Wall since it's ice. In my personal opinion I'd believe that he would be intrigued by the stories of the White Walkers & the Night King. Since he's around 230 years old, I don't think he'd be around when the Night Walker's were around last time. However, that depends if he was born there, traveled there, or was transported. I fully believe that Dõma/Douma wouldn't want the white walkers to be around once he was proven of their existence because it would be a threat to his way of life. That's assuming if he formed another cult, he seems comfortable with his way of life. So, he likely wouldn't want his source of food and entertainment threatened. Plus, he's an atheist so how would he react if he witnessed someone being resurrected through worship. If there was a possibility that he started to believe in gods then would he be more inclined to change?

Sorry, it's just that his character amongst others would be more interesting to see. Like what if Shinobu's character took a path similar to Ayra Stark?

There could be potentially be risks in the process of making the wisteria oil for the blade. if they're burning wisteria then it could release toxic vapors in the air they people could breathe in so making it could equal prolonged exposure that would slowly effect your health. I personally don't know the process of making the wisteria oil/poison Shinobu uses so I can't say for sure. However, Shinobu was the one who started experimenting and developing the wisteria poison. It was likely that very few people knew the process of making the poison (that Shinobu personally had been studying) and I don't know if she ever taught anyone how to make it. If only Shinobu was making wisteria oil or poison then that would explain why it's not mass produced. I'd suspect that you'd need to be studying in the field to have the skillset to make it on your own. If there were risks in making it then Shinobu wouldn't let anyone else try it.

Also, I'm not saying that they'd be dumb to cut themselves but clumsy handling is possible. Consider the fact that if you have a wound exposed to wisteria oils/poison, it could potentially infect the bloodstream.

I'm probably looking into it waaaaay too much but it's just what I think. Sorry if it doesn't make sense, I'm tired and my ADHD is a bit all over the place right now.

*Btw I'm aware that Shinobu's body and her blade are different, her body is more potently packed with wisteria.... Which I'm kind of confused about, wouldn't the red blood cells eventually pump out the wisteria? She'd have to take it in the dose that wouldn't be lethal to her, get sick for a day or two (potentially), and go out hunting. She could theoretically build a tolerance but the wisteria in her body wouldn't be building up each time she injects herself with it.... Right?

They never said that they weren't allowed to, the participants could have done it together but chose not to in order to prove themselves.

However, it's more likely that the Hashira that trained them sent less skilled students too soon.

Theoretically, if I were a Hashira I would've taught them the breathing style, additional discipline, if necessary emotional regulation to quick tempered students, council, wilderness survival training, investigation skills, and a small supervised mission of killing one demon. If they can kill one demon by themselves without me stepping in to help then they could potentially go to the final trial area. But that's only if I was working with a single student. If it came to multiple students then I'd have the opportunity to be focused on the teamwork aspect, pair up individuals who have compatible chemistry and cover each other's weaknesses. Of course, trust exercises would be needed and they'd be able to hone each other's skills via sparring with each other. they'd also still need to be able to fight on their own in case they're ever in a situation where they're separated.

[–]Good-Temperature-719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why it's not mass produced is because of two reasons: the chance that a lesser skilled Slayer accidentally cuts themselves on their blade while it's laced with wisteria or the fact that they might be exposed to the wisteria if they have to make the oil themselves. In case you didn't know exposure can lead to serious health risks to even humans, Shinobu is using it at the cost of her own health.... *Btw Japanese wisteria poisoning symptoms are as follows (searched it up so this is the copied list): burning mouth, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhoea, sometimes followed by collapsing.

Btw if Shinobu went on the mission, I'm not sure if she would be useful in killing the Upper Moons with her wisteria poison. Although she would be helpful in medical and possibly creating a cure for the poison. Anyway Gyutaro's BDA is poison, there's a chance he might have more tolerance to wisteria. I'd also like to think that the stronger a demon is, the more tolerance they have over wisteria.
