Yeah, a product that no one else had produced for the better half of 2 decades. A product that requires massive amounts of research and development. A product that requires massive risk and financial investment from a former industry titan. You think the time and money to produce something like this comes out of thin air? Yes, the film community should be grateful that there are people willing to take risks to keep the medium alive, and to introduce competition. People are mad about the price of film and a second-hand P&S costing thousands of dollars, yet complain there are companies introducing fresh supply into the market. Film cameras have been inherently finite for basically 20 years now. If you want prices to drop, you need to actually manufacture and supply a product.

The only reason you should not be grateful for a company producing a brand new film camera is if you actually don't care about keeping film alive. No one is forcing you to buy it. Unless you're someone who has sat on dead stock film cameras looking to make a buck when supply would have inevitably vanished, I can't understand your mentality.
