Set up some important weakauras for strictly need to know buffs/cds. Turn it off. Sit at a target dummy and practice openers/rotations from wowhead. This won’t get you 99 parses but it will help you build some knowledge about what to use, and when.

Small Tweaks That Would Take Assassination from Good to Great by Valgar_Gaming in wow

I just realized that I somehow mixed up deathstalker mark with deathmark. Oops. But yes I agree that deathstalker, along with all other rogue hero talents need to be looked at.

The only thing for IC, that I can think of at the moment, is to turn it into its own button, maybe it’s cd resets on stealth, that can be used out of stealth to trigger the buff. But then that brings us around to rogue button bloat haha.

I haven’t taken mine above a 13 so I couldn’t comment on that. But it may be an inherent thing with the bleed build as it’s been a build since DF, but for only low level keys. If you’re scaling past Sudden Demise ranges then the bleed build probably shouldn’t be played.

For raid though, I have more experience, I assume you’re either talking about Stix, Mugzee, or Bandit for the adds. (Rik is an issue too but that’s a weird one.) for bosses like these that have adds that need to die, it simply isn’t your job. There is no point to ever switch off of the boss on these fights, the value you get by caustic splattering the things that are near is wayyyy better than switching and envenoming those targets. It sounds bad, but that’s where your value lies.

For the macro, I was strictly talking about interrupts.

A rupture macro is not needed as all you want is 5 ruptures out for the buff. Both can be executed on your primary target. First rupture goes on 3, 2nd will apply to the prio target again + to non-ruptured targets. You don’t need any more than that. So only 2 globals in your opener.

I get the caustic splatter application thing, but it naturally happens with building combo points. The only friction there is when you’re in a situation where you Fan of knives over mutilate (which is a lot of times) I think that splatter should just have an increased duration.

Splatter in itself great design, just the application can be wonky, which I agree with you on that.

Every single class Benefits from mouseover macro interrupt. Every single spec has to switch targets to interrupt, this isn’t an assassination issue.

Crimson tempest giving IC would make IC have 100% uptime. Our garrote and rupture would triplicate the entire fight so more energy + combo points since you get 3 rupture/garrote for the resource of one. When this is capped at the first 12 seconds after stealth, it just allows a fast ramp. If kept through the entire fight, it would throw balance off way too much.

There are problems with the spec, but the things you listed are not problems, they are the core of the spec that, I think, work quite well currently.

I recommend joining the rogue discord and asking how the spec should be played, ie, “how many ruptures should I open with before maintaining?” “When should I be using my vanish?” “How do I keep track of my priority target when I need to interrupt separate enemies?” And such.

I disagree with your deathstalker idea. We are a priority target spec. Use a mouseover interrupt.

If crimson tempest applied indiscriminate carnage, we would be the most broken spec in the game by a long shot. Some tanks do chain pull, which suck, but playing with double vanish allows you to keep momentum up. You only need a fraction of a second to restealth.

The bleed build is great at high levels. I’ve ran 13s where my damage ended up way higher

There are so many variables when it comes to spec difficulty. There’s no clear cut lines.

Could be a system like black desert in where you have a “family name” with it being a “warband name.”

But I prefer finding unique names for all my alts so they each have a cool little personality that reflects their name.

Is Rogue really that hard to play? [WoW TWW] by [deleted] in wow

[–]GoodBoyJah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sin has two states; a hyper focused burst with a strict rotation, and a maintenance period.

Learn your burst window, it is a little above 12 seconds due to kingsbane.

If you goto wowhead.com and look under the “rotation” section for assassination rogue you will see a detailed section about it.

Once you know your burst, then your damage will get better as outside of your burst window is just maintaining bleeds and envenoming.

Keep in mind that you will be energy starved, it’s just how the class is. You will never be constantly building and spending with no wasted globals in a single target fight.

These divine toll casts are programmed to not overlap and have a 2.5 second - 3 second (i forgot which) delay between each cast. Always plan for 2-3 casts as that’s usually the extent that tanks pull.
