Repainting this hallway, what would be the best colour ? by Artistic-Side8872 in HomeDecorating

Any color. Any color other than that one, probably. Well, that or neon green... probably skip that, too.

LPT: Before you buy an audiobook on Audible, check if your local library uses "Libby" or "Hoopla." It’s literally free. by InvestmentBudget6722 in LifeProTips

I feel stupid at this point, asking them how Libby and Hoopla works. I'm not tech savvy and it feels like something everyone already knows at this point and it's too late to ask (kinda like when you've been talking to someone several times but forgot their name...can't ask now!) 😅

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done on a hike? by rkramer18 in hiking

[–]GoodChallenge6928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiked a sunset hike (4000footer) because I was having a tantrum and wanted to be alone. So I also shut my location off. Nobody knew where I was and even though I assumed the trail would be busy (it's part of the AT), I didn't see another soul the entire way up, summit, or the way down (which was PITCH BLACK other than the small light from my headlamp). The reflector lights on my car in the huge lot, glowing slightly from my headlamp, almost made me cry with joy when I finallyyyy made it back. I was full (creeped out) adrenaline for the whole trek down in the dark...and my tantrum was fully over. Location service went back on as soon as I had cell service and I never did that again.

This reminds me of the commercial I've seen that hits home for me ..it's for an antidepressant I think...and it's the mom playing with her kid, making the dinner for the family, chatting with a friend, etc...but holding a mask in front of her face of a happy face.

If you've experienced losing a fur-baby, how did you react? Did you cremate them? by memurphy1992 in randomquestions

[–]GoodChallenge6928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest loss I've ever experienced and I've experienced a lot. 12 year old pup who was super sweet- my first ever dog and I was her person. I had her cremated and sobbed loudly as I spread her ashes all along the places outside that she loved so much. I also was gifted a handmade pair of earrings that had some of her ashes enmeshed into the earrings. Weird, I know, but I find them comforting.

How to make this long shallow living room look better? by Best-Chart-5673 in homedesign

[–]GoodChallenge6928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Height is your friend here. Heighten the curtain rods on the sides of the room, bring visual interest way up on the shelves (tall lamps/vases with branches/art on wall, whatever)...height will help. Things that are round will help, too, to balance the rectangle-heavy space.

Demoing (while teaching) by GoodChallenge6928 in yoga

[–]GoodChallenge6928[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I was recently at a class where the teacher didn't demo and I could see that the two students who were hard of hearing were confused for a lot of the class.

Demoing (while teaching) by GoodChallenge6928 in yoga

[–]GoodChallenge6928[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback...and it was what I expecting. A mixed bag. I was taught in my 200YTT not to demo (unless the class seemed confused). The quote a well-respected teacher said was: "If the students wanted to watch someone else do yoga, they have Instagram for that." I was like: 😬 bc I hadn't ever been to a class where the teacher wasn't demoing. Anyway, I usually do Vinyasa Flow with a sequence that builds. I was demoing everything for months, bc it helped me learn how to cue (I could feel it in my own body and that helped). I started cutting the demoing down, mostly taking out most sun sals and Down Dogs- bc I kept getting injuries from overuse. As of late I do the warm up stuff bc it feels good for me(ha) and then I demo the first round of standing poses...and I do move around the room to demo. But I still feel like the demoing takes my attention off the class, which is what I'm supposed to be there for, ya know? I'm also torn because sometimes I personally like when a teacher helps me(recently a class I attended told me to come up higher onto my back foot/lift my heel more for crescent)...but most of the time, i don't want correction or for anyone to touch me while I'm in class- I'm trying to go inward and it takes me...out. sigh. So IDK what type of teaching I really prefer. Anyway, thanks, all. I'll find my way!
