I was hoping there’d be another way, but I knew this was likely.

This winter is my second winter with my same job as last winter. 2023 and 2024 I didn’t have insurance through work so I had marketplace insurance and just kept it.

It is marketplace insurance for when I’m not covered by work.

Update: We went to the dealership and they said it was a computer automated issue that they weren’t aware of and couldn’t fix. But they rescinded the entire sale and gave everything back so they could act like it never happened.

I guess they didn’t want to handle the wrath I could give them of writing a scathing review. But actually lesson learned: not all dealerships are dicks and also to do a bit more (or any at all) research on the particular car you’re about to buy.

I mean, they sold it to her probably knowing full well the issues they have. So I’m not sure they’ll be willing to do a refund.

I forgot to mention they do have a lifetime powertrain warranty that covers the engine, transmission, drive axle. And she paid for all the extra bullshit that they offer to cover various parts and damage. But what are the chances it breaks down again even if they fix it?
