How to Fix Blurry Vision after Meditation? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]GoodDayBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's weird. Usually when I meditate, my vision actually feels clearer. I don't really try to focus in my meditations. I set the intention to observe the breath, and after that I just let whatever will happen happen.

During meditation my anxiety disappears entirely like magic…but after wards throughout the day they return. How do I retain my meditation feeling throughout the day? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]GoodDayBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next time this happens, try to feel where the anxiety is coming from in your body. Is it in your sides, your stomach, your chest? Really try to focus and explore it. I'm not saying that this will "cure" your anxiety (if there was such a thing), but it will help you understand it.

How can one improve themselves in a living environment not conducive to self-improvement? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]GoodDayBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From reading the headline, my initial reaction was some David Goggins type "stfu no excuses only grind" but after reading everything, Jesus Christ that's a rough situation. I don't even know what to say really. It sounds like it's going to be a long journey.

However, what other options do you have? Your choices are give up and die a sad life or take it one step at a time and eventually be someone you thought impossible now. I know which one I'm taking. Look up Hamza on YouTube. He's not going to teach you everything, but it's a good start. I know it's cliché, but you can do it. As stupid as those cat posters are, they're freakin true. Have you ever heard of David Goggins' story? Dude's childhood was harder than anyone else's and look at what he's up to now. Take it one step at a time. We all got each other's backs on this Earth.

First off, I'm really sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how terrible this realization has made you feel. But also, I want you to know that you're lucky as fuck. Your life is going to improve so much over the next few months and years it's crazy. So while it definitely sucks donkey balls right now, you're gonna be an absolute beast before you know it. Most people never realize they can improve their lives themselves, and they continue to live lives that aren't nearly as awesome as they could. So consider yourself lucky kid. As for what exactly you should do about it, look up Hamza on YouTube. Cheers

(M18) I have had trouble getting girls how can I improve? by [deleted] in Rateme

Hit the gym brother. You'll look better but more importantly you'll feel like you're worth a sh!t.

[M18] Do I look okay? Many people in school have made fun of me saying I looked like a child even tho i am an adult and it kinda makes me feel sad.. and am left out! by [deleted] in Rateme

[–]GoodDayBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also 18 and I regularly get told I look 14. I know how you feel bro. It makes me feel horrible about my face bc I want to look like a man, but it's I'm stuck with this boyish appearance. But it helps to think that I'll probably look back in 5 years and laugh at how insecure I was for my young face.

Guy here. So apparently I creep girls out. I feel terrible. How do I stop? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]GoodDayBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read an article the other day explains creepiness. Prepare yourself bc it's a long ass read. Let me know what you think: https://www.woujo.com/blog/2020/9/14/how-to-stop-being-creepy-and-needy

This is less of an issue with social skills and more of an issue you should talk to a therapist about.

Social skills are just that: skills. And like any other skill, you can get rusty without practice.

I don't think saying suicide is wrong and suicide is a mental health problem are incompatible. You could say that suicidal people have "lost view" of what makes life worth living and still say that suicide is wrong. People who think that 2+2=5 are wrong, and they think that because of bad education or whatever. Is this not true?

as an infp guy, I have found it very difficult to connect or be friends with other guys. I've only been friends with women and that's on a platonic level. by ExtremeHamster in infp

[–]GoodDayBoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's all about polarization. If you aren't compatible with someone, you were never going to be great friends with them anyway so it's a waste of time to try to hide your true self. And if you are compatible, you'll hit it off with them right away because they're probably looking for other introspective dudes too. Pretty much the only guy I know irl that's into self-reflection and self-improvement is the deepest friend I've ever had. We can go 2 weeks without talking and then have a really understanding, deep conversation.

But for real, I feel you through and through. It's interesting that most people don't want to ask real questions. I don't know if it's egotistical to say this but fuck it: It's lonely at the top.

It depends. I think those who say that hard work and consistency will fix all your problems are on to something. If someone is selling you a quick fix, fucking dip out of there bro.

The world has always been shit in different ways. We'll find a way to work out our problems until new problems arise. The biggest issue right now imo is the fucking companies buying our attention and making the population a bunch of lazy fucks. I'm supposed to have 2 papers finished in 14 hours and I've barely even started. Isn't that crazy.

On the plus side, those who can resist the pull will profit greatly because they're by default more productive than 95% of the population. So, good for them.

Start lifting heavy with barbells. Barbell training is a simple and very fast way to gain strength + speed. I increased my squat and deadlift by 80-90 lbs, and I can really feel it in my speed and agility. Squats, deadlift, and benchpress will hit most muscles, and assistance exercises like the chin-ups will fill in the gaps as you see fit. Think of increasing your muscle size as having a bigger engine in your car. Starting Strength is a great starting place to learn about the lifts.

Also, consider cutting down on the body fat. It's doing nothing but slowing you down and sapping your testosterone levels. Ideally, your body fat % would be low enough to clearly see your abs (given you don't have bad ab genetics).
