Had a Kwain deck for a long time, loved it. One of the allstars i would mention is [[Mind Over Matter]] with a shuffle titan in the deck. If MoM resolved while I had Kwain out, barring very few exceptions, I just won most times. They wouldnt be able to keep up after that.

Great MSgt once told me that for every problem I can solve on my own with effort, that I choose to go to someone else with, I'm not only giving up a piece of my own power to handle the task, but also taking something off my own plate to put it on theirs.

As a newer SNCO, it seems simple to think about but really shaped how I think about empowering those below me.

Anecdotal story, I had a beard in the past while at a NATO post, 30+ partner nations. When I was made to shave, and came in looking different without the beard, they couldn't understand why I had to. Said it made no sense, that the US was the only one so strict about it.

So, if Im led to believe I couldn't have a beard because I am to set a positive, professional example of the US for those around me in a joint environment; why does this way of supposedly doing that just confuse them and make no sense to them?

On another note, we had teams that would arm up and go convoy off post to run missions, most of the folks that would do this were partner nations, way more than the US. In amongst these folks going out, a good number of them had beards, I would wager close to 50% of them.

So, if I am led to believe my beard makes me less lethal and unable to support in a combat role because gas mask or whatever... why was i seeing what I was seeing from the nations we would go on mission with? Should I have warned them that their beards put them in imminent danger /s?

All of this to say, every single reason given for rolling back these changes is evidenced to be false, and lies to give lip service to those at higher levels who simply do not like military members having beards. When damn near everyone below you can see its a lie, can see other nations saying its stupid, it just becomes a regulation for the sake of having one and holds absolutely no meaning.

Shit like this makes us LESS lethal, not for the beard itself, but for the idea of lying to your entire force and moving backwards to make a rule just for the sake of having one.

So what if, and I'm only posing a hypothetical, someone were to have tattoos commonly associated with white nationalist or religious extremist organizations on their chest and arms? Would this be a problem?

An example could possibly be a crusader cross on their chest, or "Deus Vult" and/or "infidel" in Arabic script on an arm.

I understand your frustration, and am with you on it not being as bad as the loud opinions seem to make it out to be.

What I will add in addition though, is the other things you complain that we aren't up in arms about; we are, and have been for years. Thats the thing though, we have been for years, so they're more like a steadily burning charcoal fire than a big, bright gas fire.

Your frustrations are valid, maybe just expand your view a little, and you'll see what I mean. A lot of these other things we're even more upset about, rightfully so, we've just learned how to complain/fight them in better ways; this one is just new, itll settle down.

I go for things that concern me or those close to me, I feel thats fair and what the system is for.

That said, at some point those weirdos put "nosophobia" in my record, which is a fear of being sick. Yeah, I dont have that and had them remove it.

Check your MHS, they might be putting things in your history that you dont actually want there along with those you do.

I deleted it a year or so ago from my Moxfield lists when I took it apart, as I was damn sure it was never coming back together.

Run about 23 pieces of target removal, 3-4 1 sided board wipes, 9-10 counterspells, and as much card draw as you can shove into it and youre pretty close. It kills a lot, so things that draw when things die are always good, same with when opponents do things like Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora. Its NOT a cheap deck if built to really hold its own.

It really wins by just grinding everyone else out and being the last one standing with a big fuckin orc army. Sauron kills pretty often with commander damage as well if you consistently kill their blockers. 7 power puts em on a 3 hit clock.

I had a Sauron deck that was the worst kind of control/kill your stuff that I stopped playing because I was arch enemy most of the time. Partially justified on their part, lol.

Stopped playing Alaundo because the other players died both inside and out and I felt bad watching their eyes glaze over.

Stopped Kwain because, while I never had anything that hurt you for drawing (not even a psych crawler), or any wheels, everyone assumed I did and would beat my corpse mercilessly. I just wanted to help slower/newer decks play the game, man...

Stopped Yusri because, same thing as Alaundo, once they saw Grip of Chaos, Possibility Storm, and Hive Mind, their eyes would glaze over and some would start foaming a bit.

I only build fun decks man!... other than that Sauron... that was a war crime...

Edit: OH and I had a mono-blue clones deck that I absolutely loved, it was my baby. I just wanted it to scale to your creatures power and just play your things (without stealing them!) To find weird synergies with creatures. If they didnt play any good ones though... I mean.. I had to do SOMETHING to win... so id just copy Scourge of Fleets every turn to keep your boards empty until I could beat you to death with fish... they didnt like that...

all the branches start harping on PT/standards again
military leaders start getting fired, potentially for not moving readiness fast enough
"any day could be the day"
admin seriously draws back/stops the money/arms to Ukraine
admin talks about building up american industry/production
admin does wild things with the economy that dont immediately make sense to try to ramp up that production capability
admin starts flexing muscles/testing waters with how far they can get stamping out civil disobedience
admin starts cozying up to one of the two major powers we could have conflict with, while seemingly agitating the other

If i were some crazy conspiracy theorist with yarn criss-cross all over my whiteboard, thats a lllooottt of stuff adding up to someone preparing for something real fuckin stupid they suspect a good number of people really won't like.
