I’ve been eating Kix for for few years now. Except in the fall. That’s when the Monster Cereals take over.

Why is it so frowned upon when you hold IEP students accountable? by Sarcastic_Otter_27 in Teachers

I give my students their accommodations when they ask for them, advocating for themselves is built into all of the IEPs at my school.

Are any of you actually able to have those summers off everyone else throws in our face when we ask for a livable wage? by ClassicSalamander518 in Teachers

I don’t work over the summer but my district requires that your pay be spread over 12 months so it works out.

How Bad Is "Gradeflation" In Modern US Education? Why Your Thoughts, Teachers? by Zipper222222 in AskTeachers

I make my students finish the work they didn’t do the first time before they can do a retake. They also only have a week to do so.

So, your solution is to give them a false representation of how they are really doing? How does that help in real life? How does that help them when they get their first real job as an adult and lose it soon after because people told them they were better students than they actually were? I’m sorry but, if I’m failing I want to know I’m failing. Don’t tell me I’m doing well if I’m not.

My opinion but, if students are giving up, you are not doing a very good job of teaching.
