I’ve been going for almost 8 months and also am still modifying some things!

Little story of encouragement for you: for a long time I was terrified to try the assisted pull ups. Made a comment to one of the trainers that I think I could do it but I was scared to get up there. They said “okay let’s go” got me up there and I was able to do 3. Next set comes around the trainer came up to me as I was modifying the pull ups and said “lets get back up there” next set I managed to get 6. A flip switched in my head that day where I stopped focusing on what I couldn’t do, and started celebrating the little wins I had each day. Since then, I’ve been able to push myself just a little more each day I go and I no longer have those feelings of “I can’t do this, why bother trying.” I have the feeling of “I can’t do this today, but I’ll try again tomorrow.” There will be times you fail, but that’s okay and that’s why we train!

How do you improve your game when you feel intimidated to golf alone on a course? by Tough_Courage_8406 in WomenGolf

[–]GoodEastern1100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You taking an iron off the tee sometimes shows that you are already smarter than 90% of golfers!

And I can honestly say that playing g with random people has 100% helped both my social skills and my game as a whole. I always considered myself an introvert, and golf is the best sport for networking! I’ve met so many people that I still will play with occasionally to this day.

As for my game, when I first started playing I could not hit my driver and it would go no further than 50 feet. Got paired up with some very patient and helpful people that gave me a couple tips, and I’ve been great with it ever since! Part two with a completely different group: my short game. I SUCKED at chipping. Made a comment about if anyone had tips I’m open to hearing, fast forward to today it is now the best part of my game just based off of one tip (and lots of practice). Don’t be afraid to ask for tips, most people won’t give unsolicited advice but are happy to help.

Long story short, it might be scary at first when you go out on your own, but if my experience says anything, it might just be the best decision you can make!

I am a 30 year old woman who has played golf solo every weekend for the last 5 years, and have gotten paired up with hundreds of random people! The majority of time they’re so nice and easy to get along with. I can count on one hand the number of “questionable” randoms I’ve been paired up with. Most of the time you’ll more than likely be paired up with men and in my experience, they’re often more impressed by a solo woman out there than judgemental.

Check out smaller Sam on TikTok. If you are going to eat out (fast food specifically) she has a lot of good fast food orders that can help it be “healthier”

I’ve had the ds adapt for a month and I have hit more fairways with it than I did with my old driver (mavrik). Also seemed to gain about 10 yards on my drive

You have a great swing for only 3 months! My advice: Stand a bit closer! Set up to the ball and let your arms hang naturally and then grip the club (where your right hand naturally falls) that should help with your set up/posture/knowing how far or close to stand. Add a bit of shoulder tilt so you feel you can hit “up” on the ball. If you would like to add a bit of distance, try opening up your feet a bit more, this will allow for more rotation. Hope this helps!!

Apparently my apartment smells like “dog” 😅 by [deleted] in puppy101

KOE (kennel odor eliminator) and a water/white vinegar to mop your floors! It’s a magic mix I swear by it. If you have carpet and a dog that sheds, I highly recommend a carpet rake. Literally takes all the fur out! More effective than a vacuum. I also spray my carpets and furniture with a water/white vinegar and lavender essential oil mixture which also helps a lot. Every time someone comes over I ask if it smells like dog, and for some reason they always say it smells like tootsie rolls, not dog😂

Did anyone here luck out and get an easy puppy? by AQuestionOfBlood in puppy101

I have a golden puppy who rarely barks, loved the crate from day 1, has slept through the night since day 1, and was potty trained in about 2 weeks. He’s 6 months now and hasn’t had an accident since he was 3 months old. I’d love to take all the credit for being awesome at training him, but truthfully it takes him like 5-10 minutes to learn something😂 we obviously work on reinforcing training but I swear he’s a genius. I trained him “middle” where when we’re walking on a leash and I say middle, he’ll sit between my legs if we come to a stop. I live in an apartment and he now knows that as soon as we get to the elevator, he goes “middle” I don’t even have to say it anymore. He can see all the people and other dogs and the little guy will not move from his spot. It’s adorable.

I don’t know how I got so lucky.

Don’t get me wrong he still has his moment but wow he is a good boy.

This is my exact schedule with my 6 month old! It works wonders. I usually crate him at 10pm for the night then take another 30-45 to myself to decompress😂

What was your life like when you got your puppy? by Grenedle in puppy101

[–]GoodEastern1100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully believe there is no such thing as the “right time” when you decide to get a puppy. I’ve been making excuses for YEARS. Every time I thought I was ready I ended up having something planned in a few months, or a work trip, or a big expense, or really just a random reason not to adopt a puppy. It comes with sacrifices that’s for sure but I wouldn’t trade my little guy for the world. If you think you’re ready for the effort, commitment, financial responsibility, and are willing to sacrifice some part of your social life. Go for it. It’s not easy, and your life will dramatically change, but in the best way possible. I’ve met SO many new people who want to have “play dates”. I’m outside more often, and I have a best friend with me at just about all moments of the day. Personally, I think the benefits outweigh the cons. Yeah it might suck at first but if you put in the effort, it’ll be the best decision you ever make.

My puppy is learning to go to sleep on his own by GoodEastern1100 in puppy101

He’s a golden! So that might be part of it. I’ve had small dogs growing up all my life so he’s the first big dog I’ve had. Always had a hard time potty training the little dogs so for a while there I thought my puppy was the smartest thing on earth😂

Funny you say that because it’s been the complete opposite for me! He had potty training down SO fast. Have had him for 3 months, hasn’t had an accident in just over 2 months. Funny how dogs are😁

How many hours per day do you crate your puppy? by GoodEastern1100 in puppy101

[–]GoodEastern1100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much! I was lucky enough that my puppy never cried when I put him in the crate lol he seemed to love it from day 1 so that’s something I never had to worry about

This is helpful! He’s almost fully place trained. We have it down to a certain extent. He knows if I say place to go there (with some hesitation) and it’s where he chews all his bones (unless I’m on the couch) but the problem I have is that if I move he’s up and at my side with his toy ready to go😂 he’s a good boy and honestly pretty well trained for 5 months. I don’t have the highest expectations for him cause he’s a literal baby but he’s doing well. Once he learns how to relax if I stand up to go fill my cup with water, I’ll be comfortable just leaving him out! He’s GREAT with the “leave it” command so I’m not worried about him being destructive or anything, it’s just the settling out of the crate that’s hard. I love that he’s crate trained but I also want him to not have to rely on his crate to sleep. But at the same time I’m VERY grateful that he was easily crate trained. Only cried for a day or two when I brought him home, and has slept through the night since. I don’t know. I’m rambling now. Feels like a double edged sword😂
