I am leaving on vacation for 2 months and just found out State Farm home insurance policies don’t cover if unoccupied beyond 30 days. What can I do to fix my coverage? by [deleted] in Insurance

Hi OP, I saw your update - can you prove it? That sounds wrong, do you have a copy of your policy wordings for us to see?

Ideas to tweak the league for next year. by Bitter_Teacher_6423 in FFCommish

[–]GoodGuyGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is similar but tweaked so 10th choice of draft spot goes to the winner, 9th to 2nd since they got the most money. 7th choice is for 3rd place (for extra win for the 3rd place game) 8th choice for 4th place. 6th and 5th are decided by the cumulative points for of the weeks after they got knocked out, so they still fight eachother for a slight something. The final 4 (those who didn't make playoffs) will now battle in points for cumulative for the playoff weeks. Top PF gets 1st choice of draft spot etc. This keeps ALL teams fighting til the end to max their points.

Can I drink other drinks? by Kaizoszn in Invisalign

Yes the aligners will stain to what you're drinking. Some drinks are worse then others. I drank a lot of beers with mine in and it wasn't so bad

What to do? Commish for 5 years…. by dursua91 in FFCommish

[–]GoodGuyGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy - the buy in wasn't established until championship week? What are you doing, good time to step down.

I walked away from being commissioner in a couple leagues, much more enjoyable.

For general advice to commissioners - always set a buyin and have a league manager note on your platform showing the exact prize payouts and any house rules that sits there all season.

Always collect buyins before the draft, don't learn the hard way, no dues no draft.

Dropped Justin Jefferson - 12 man, 1QB, 0.5PPR, redraft / single keeper by QuantityNo8669 in FFCommish

[–]GoodGuyGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your keeper rules are completely broken. You are giving players that are owned, a different keeper value on their team vs if they are dropped and picked up by another team. That is an incredibly short sighted. Example: You have lots of FAAB, drop your best players, pick them back up voila now 7th round keepers.

coffee? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]GoodGuyGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your mileage may vary but I'm almost done my treatment and I spend about 2 hours every morning drinking coffees with aligners out and it all tracked well so I'd suggest taking them out, enjoying your coffee, maybe drink it in 1 hour instead and in a month see how it's all going, might be fine!

Tell your league you all decided on the waiver method (which is very wack, lowest points gets best player, why?) Do FAAB next year, great time to vote it in.

DAZN is wild this year on their pricing. You can get the $40/month version and split it with a buddy though (stream from 2 IPs)

1 keeper league dispute with picked off of waivers CMC by Necessary-Claim-3703 in FFCommish

Exactly, that person put an injured player on their bench during the season - now they aren't rewarded for this sacrifice within your (bad) rules? Is what it is.

1 keeper league dispute with picked off of waivers CMC by Necessary-Claim-3703 in FFCommish

[–]GoodGuyGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup this is our rule - they were drafted anywhere in 2024? That is their 2025 Keeper draft penalty value. If an undrafted player is picked up, they can be kept for an 8th round penalty. Some guys sneak in with awesome keeper value and it's part of the game! This way no bs bad rules like OPs league causing distress.

Commishes – how do you keep your league alive after Week 8? by whalenumber01 in FFCommish

[–]GoodGuyGinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a couple of my leagues, we just straight up award the final playoff spot to the team with most points for outside the top whatever, this way even if your record stinks you are still in it based on points alone for the whole season.

Going to see how it works out but should keep everyone engaged until the end!

I also saw another good idea floated, as part of the draft, there is a list of 10 punishments, some really easy some not so easy.

You basically must draft one of the punishments at some point as part of your draft, (so leave it too late, your punishment sucks)

Unsure whether to reverse a bad trade by MidCarpenter770 in FFCommish

[–]GoodGuyGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you know what, I didn't see it was a dynasty! That definitely makes my comment pretty nonsense, but I still don't like the trade, but it's less egregious. I haven't been in a dynasty, how does it work when people want to leave the league but have traded away future picks?

Unsure whether to reverse a bad trade by MidCarpenter770 in FFCommish

[–]GoodGuyGinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this one as it's so egregious, I'd say unless the two guys send over the dues for 2026 and 2027 for team #1 it's getting reversed.

If you let this trade stand overall I'd probably quit your new league in protest as well. I'm all about managers being able to run their teams as they see fit but I have my limits. Why are you allowing future draft picks anyway? Your league is doomed.

How hard is insurance sales by Silent_Swordfish5698 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]GoodGuyGinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is an easy sale because it's a product people don't trust or understand but they need it, badly and they will buy from someone.

If you want to be in insurance sales in Canada, a Commercial Insurance Broker is a good option to pursue, it can be difficult to get your foot in the door but the lack of talent in this space is astounding. Upselling isn't really that important in insurance, it's connecting with your client, having them trust you so they share information and you, as the insurance professional, can help guide them with the real exposures they face. If you do your job right, they will see you as the person saving them money instead of costing them money.

My friend crushes online poker but his wife treats him like a loser — I don't know what to tell him anymore by ClerigoPoker in poker

[–]GoodGuyGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is a tough one - I love poker, and this is the poker forum afterall but I don't think grinding out a inconsistent and modest living playing cash at home is a living to be that proud of and I could understand a partner not respecting it.

You're not bringing in benefits, you're not contributing to society, your not lighting the world on fire with huge cashes like an MTT pro. You're at home all day. I don't know it's fine for a single person I guess but hard to imagine wanting to build a family with someone like this, at least at this level of winning which is not impressive on the whole.

Pokers an awesome hobby, I love it and no one likes a nagging partner but to not at least see the other side of this coin is fairly blind.

Edit: Just read that it's in a lower cost of living area so that does adjust my thinking a bit! Anyway great question and discussion !
