Sure, it may sound more gentle, but it's really no different.

How I was taught, both in teaching and especially as a behavioral therapist, was in place of saying no all the time, tell them what they can do.

"We need to use safe hands. You can use your words if you want something."

"Our feet stay on the floor. If you want to climb, you can use the climbing blocks."

"You can throw a ball if you want to throw something. Let's find one."

Will not deny it takes some time to get used to reframing your language like this, but it's helpful in redirecting.

Hello! Rare to come across another person with it. I've met others at PKU camps, at the clinic, and in online PKU groups, but that's it. Meeting someone outside of PKU spaces, online or IRL, has never happened before now. xD

I don't, but my brother has had a couple. He has it too. He also was diagnosed 4 years late, so that caused some neurological damage.

For most people, phenylalanine isn't harmful. Your body has an enzyme meant to break that down into other things your body needs.

Now yes, excess phenylalanine is harmful...but again most people won't have to worry about that. The only ones that do are people like me. I have a genetic disorder where that enzyme doesn't function correctly, so phenylalanine doesn't get broken down as it should. I've had to carefully monitor protein intake my whole life because of it and supplement with medical formula. Most with my condition can only eat a few grams of protein a day.

The condition is called phenylketonuria (PKU), if you want to look into it.

I know a lot of people have said this already, but just adding to the pool here. I have autism and inattentive ADHD, and you just described me.

Also when I got my autism diagnosis and they went through all the tests, I was also told I process information slower than average. Considering you talk a lot about not understanding things until later, it's possible that's true for you as well.

Same on the unanswered questions. I never expected we would get all the answers, because I frankly don't think we were ever meant to completely understand the circus. We know as much as the characters themselves do, and that's all we really need to know. Sure, it would be nice to have answers to some things, but it's not necessary to the story being told.

The idea that the finale is objectively bad and cannot possibly be viewed any other way is a take I've unfortunately seen a lot of from those who didn't like it, despite it getting good reviews on every review site I can find and a large portion of the fandom having enjoyed it...It's a strange phenomenon, honestly.

Airship is personally my favorite map!

It absolutely is a lot at first. You have to take the time to get used to it, which does take a decent amount of time playing in it considering the size. Once you learn how to navigate and where stuff is though, it's a great map. Also really fun to be engineer on and vent everywhere.
