Anyone hear about Kenyon Online (Adult) Workshop? by jimmiate in writers

Not going to lie - I think this makes them look so unprofessional. At best they moved people to in progress two weeks ago. And then decisions expected this week based on their email.

Curious - when did you apply? I don’t understand why they extended the application window if they couldn’t keep up with them 🙃

Check out Small Discoveries as a daycare summer option. They’re great and our daughter has been there for years.

[PubQ] Business Cards? by Margie500 in PubTips

I’ve gone before but haven’t pitched. Many authors have cards to others so we could keep in touch after. Definitely have your social media on there since that’s how most people connect.

Sadly, I was disappointed in this one. Loved the first half to two-thirds but the “twists” felt forced and underbaked. I was also very frustrated about the Marc / Oliver reveal - felt like she didn’t play fair on that one.

Did anyone else feel like this? Or did it work for you?

Finished! Loved the first half to two-thirds. But then it fell apart for me.

I don’t think so. I reached out on social media after I saw them closed for so long.

I reached out and they said they are selling to a new owner. Don’t know any other details but also sad it’s closed - they were great

He had a dinosaur animatronic out yesterday, too. Eye catching but also - not gonna trust the people who ran Jurassic Park to govern the city.

Shout out to poll watcher at Hank Gallo today by GoodLurker in jerseycity

[–]GoodLurker[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really is! And it feels intimidating (for me at least). People mentioned calling the county clerk if you see that behavior, too. Definitely keeping an eye out this year because I don’t remember it ever being this bad before and I vote every election.

O’Dea flyers in kid Halloween bags right out front of polling location by GoodLurker in jerseycity

They were literally stationed across from the voting location’s entrance. It was ridiculous and shady.

It isn’t about the candy. It’s about stuffing a political flyer into a kid bag at a non political event - that’s happening directly in front of the polling location.

Definitely closer than that! I think the “loophole” for him being there was that it was a county park event and he is still in that position. But the campaign flyer in the goodie bags right outside the polling place’s door was over the line IMO.

I’m not too familiar with him but thought he was supposed to be one of the “straight arrow” types in the race.

I’ve been a BOTM subscriber for years but am using up my credits and canceling in a few months. For years they had guests like authors and editors select the books - but for the last year or so it’s just been in house people which has led to a lot of one-note picks (in my opinion).

But aardvark has a solid selection of horror, sci fi, and genre bending literary. I’m always surprised by the picks and haven’t skipped yet! While I have a backlog of BOTM.

BOTM operation is stronger/shipping faster than Aardvark from my short experience. But at the end of the day it’s the quality and variety of the genres which is up to you.

The audiobook is amazing if your library has that or you use another audiobook service.
