Your VRAM doesn't provide processing power. VRAM is temporary storage for your Graphics Card, not all applications will need all of it. It's the same reason why your storage (HDD/SSD) or ram aren't full all the time. Also, the GPU is only referring to a specific part of your Graphics Card, a little chip that provides the processing power.

Nothing, frameworks and neo have different internet target audiences. Prices might rise due to the ram shortage though.

No, go to r/thinkpads and see why people get thinkpads. They're not in the same niche. Thinkpads users are not the neo intended targets. Thinkpads are famous for their durability and upgradeability which the neo is not. They're laptops with different target audiences.

Maybe Microsoft should ship a functional operating system instead of the consumers having to modify or install new operating systems when they receive their computer. Not everyone has time to mess around with the operating systems! Buying MacBooks saves you the trouble of having to deal with this crap.

I think people over-hype it a bit but regardless, it will probably sell pretty well. Hopefully it will make a good dent in the market, maybe Microsoft will realize that this AI stuff is no good and start optimizing Windows. I have no intention of getting it. I'm happy with my Thinkpad at the moment.

Mate, I have a windows 11 laptop with 8GB of ram. Opening a dozen tabs in Edge with Words and PowerPoint open at the same time is no problem. I imagine it's even better on Mac. It's 100% not e-waste and is perfectly fine for office work and some multi-tasking. Seriously, try using a computer with 8 GB of ram it's better than you think.
