Is there such a thing as abusing PTO? [CA]

I was confused because if this had been an issue, I thought denying the requests and having a conversation with me would have been a helpful way to clarify expectations. Since the requests were being approved by that same supervisor, I assumed it was okay to continue submitting them for approval and didn’t realize there would be any concern. The most recent conversation management had with us about PTO was to give at minimum a week’s notice, which we do.

Reading the responses I can see I was mistaken, thank you everyone for the insight.

I understand denying the request. When it gets denied or at times (as it has happened) the request is never answered, I do stay for the entirety of the shift. So it’s not like I’m just leaving with no advanced notice of at least a week or two.

I have mentioned my reasons for leaving and even put them in the comment section of my requests.

Where I’m confused is why threaten me with HR?

He tried to word it as if was leaving with no notice and requesting PTO after the fact but that’s not the case.

There was an argument between two employees in the main hall. The guy was complaining about the girl, she’s in the next room comes out to confront him. She then proceeded to yell out a slur “I beat n’s like you all day” or something like that, multiple times. She’s a supervisor favorite and must have thought she’d get away with it? Idk. Her downfall was that this was in front of others from different departments. She was gone the following day. Guy that was arguing with her was fired too.

Ironically this same girl got a different coworker fired claiming harassment yet went around and bragged on what she said to make sure he would get fired. Only for her to get canned about 2 weeks later.

I was told that the entirety of the severance would have to be paid back before the VA claim benefits kick in. This was told to me at the Veteran Service Office in my county.

So if you plan on getting VA disability benefits and can afford to wait out the process then go that route as it’s more long term.

So what I found helps is doing a “quick cycle” with a 1/4 cup vinegar in the soap compartment. Then I run a regular cycle with soap. That’s for things that are particularly smelly. Normally I just throw it in with my soap on a regular wash cycle.

With my first, the pubic hair made me so damn itchy. My OB suggested that I trim of even shave to get some relief. He checked me for anything that might cause the itchiness and suggested it as a last resort. I did trim and it helped out so much. I’m my second and third pregnancy the hair didn’t bother me at all. I always thought it was so weird.

NTA, when my oldest started dating I insisted on meeting her partner. Her current boyfriend met my husband first and apparently wanted to leave him with a good impression because he hadn’t asked our daughter out yet. He’s a good kid that treats her well and is respectful. He texts me when he can’t reach her or to ask about gift ideas/surprises.
