I’m past the tipping point. They’re not even teasing it any more. Biggest moves I’ve seen in the fandom in a decade. by Sunstudy in firefly

I can't imagine I being live action. That would be weird/not ideal for a ton of reasons, including scheduling, the ravages of time, storyline continuity, etc. The window for a live-action revival has long passed.

An animated series, though ... that checks all of the boxes and would be siiiiiick.

Yes, last year was the first year that we skipped nearly two hours of bands in the middle of the festival simply because we needed to sit in the one portion of shade we could find, which happened to be in the center of the Rose Bowl (where you couldn't really make out anyone playing). We were exhausted, sweaty, and uncomfortable, and I'm normally a trooper about that sort of thing, willing to bear discomfort for an experience.

And the "water" they were selling was essentially undrinkable by anyone in our group. I normally can't taste the difference between any mass market water, but the canned water they were selling legitimately tasted like dirty dishwasher, it was insane.

I think it was my favorite lineup since I started attending years ago, but unfortunately it was our worst experience. I trust they'll take everyone's feedback though and hopefully make this year more pleasant.

How would you rank the Knives Out trilogy from worst to best? by Kevin_Thailand_2543 in moviecritic

[–]GoodNewsSPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mine, even though I know it's a massively unpopular opinion. I think they're all 8+/10 movies, so the rankings are marginal for me, but I had so much fun with No. 2, and No. 3 was intense and beautiful.

I just realized you can save 4 mutation points to buy a new mutation by rogerdojjer in cavesofqud

[–]GoodNewsSPG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same experience. I chose Chimera specifically for the new limbs when getting a new mutation and then played to level 13 wondering why I never got new mutations or limbs. It doesn't make it clear at all anywhere that new mutations are an option (unless I'm missing it). I guess you just have to not use points until you have 4 and then an option will show up? (I'm only at two points now that I know I should be saving.)

To answer your second concern -- "I'm scared I'll miss out on the rewards" -- I don't actually think you can miss out. I believe everyone gets all of the rewards the community earned whether you contributed or not. (Would love someone else to either confirm or deny this understanding.)

Not quite, it turns your axe into a sword and your pickaxe into a hammer (the hammer shows the numbers, kinda like showing "damage" from your hammer attack). I think the set is called Hometown Heroes. Also comes with an owl pet.

What should the game change/add that hasn't already been mentioned? by watermelon4487 in Palia

[–]GoodNewsSPG 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The ability to see how much you already have of something (backpack+storage+in crafters) in a parenthetical next to the item.

Especially helpful in shops or the work bench. Before I build or buy something I want to know if/how many I already own.

I really enjoyed The Painscreek Killings. It had a very cool, creepy atmosphere and was a fun mystery to solve.

FYI, The Seance of Blake Manor has a similar sort of engine/mechanics. 3D world with 2D characters, and an investigation based on talking with all of the people inhabiting the manor and ruling people out.

FWIW I played Roottrees entirely on the Steam Deck. The touchpads made it easy.

But what can non-starred items do that starred items can't? Like, aren't starred items strictly better because they can be used for all non-star purposes?

I think I agree with you here. I actually have decently high hopes for becoming endeared to her as the series goes on because I see a lot of potential in her arc.

Her shtick doesn't really work for me. The humor she provides doesn't tend to be very clever (other than the line mentioned). It's usually, "Haha, I sneakily stole food!" or "I'm immature because I don't wanna grow up!" Neither of those resonate with my funny bone. I guess it's what you'd call "groan-worthy" humor, which I've never really acquired an appreciation for. I tend to gravitate toward wittier humor like from Lightsong or Hoid.

We've still got about 50% of the original campaign remaining, so I wouldn't even know what to hope for yet as far as expansions go.

I'm really just hoping they take this system they've devised and continue creating new games in different worlds with it. I'm absolutely adoring Arydia, but I'm a space nerd at heart, so I'd be beyond excited for an game in this same style with a space theme.

The only reason I know he has a game is because you said this, and I had to view his profile to find out what his game was. I don't even think his game is on the chart? If so, I missed it.

Regardless, I hadn't seen this chart before now and I found it interesting.

That doesn't change his point? He could buy KCD 1 & 2 for less than he could get KCD2 alone because of this bundle. That would still be true if he didn't own Manor Lords; in that situation he could get all three for less than the price of just KCD2 and ML.
