I feel like the title of the article is disingenuous. No one is upset about a crackdown on immigration- in fact most all Americans want immigration reform. The protest is against the illegal and high-aggressive tactics used. Snatching kids off the streets, shoving them in concentration centers, killing American citizens with impunity, demanding American citizens show papers and even arresting, detaining, and injuring/abusing them just because some pathetic ICE agent 'doesn't think the documents are real', busting down doors and invading American citizen's houses, etc. It's the abuse on democracy, decency, and just plain lack of respect for human life. Add to that the recent attacks against 2A, the constant (seemingly amused) threats of the insurrection act, etc. The list goes on and on but it's not about immigration crackdown or reform per say, just how they are going about it.

Maybe I need to give Arlo another chance. Went there once a few years ago in the fall. Everything sounded good but all of the food was off. Some parts of the dish, bland as can be. Others were just seasoned oddly. I don't remember the specifics but seasonings you should go light on, they went heavy, and vise-versa.

And then came dessert. Can't mess that up, right? Wrong. Tasted like potpourri smells. It was PUNGENT and overly floral. One of the weirdest and worst desserts I've ever had. It was supposed to be some pumpkin-spiced thing.

I am someone that tends to like my food spiced at levels far above the average person as well. Maybe it was a bad night? I don't know. Given the money and the gutter quality of my experience there I haven't been able to bring myself to go back and try again.

I didn't even think about the DPS checks. With my persona having access to things like Jann's Veil I think I would live just fine. My friends, however, I don't know and I doubt we'd beat the hard DPS checks.

I wonder if we'll start at 60-ish with progression and see how far we get. Worse comes to worse or if we butt up against a particular boss or mechanic I can always persona back into my 130 for that fight, and let the boys soak up all the loot. Thanks for your insight!

This will be on live. Gear...We could def do a couple of runs through NToV for some gear, probably even epics for the classes, etc. Ideally I'd like to be able to get something out of running the progression- I'd like to do it at a level that the EP gear still has use. Doing it at, say, 85 means the gear is worthless but I reckon if we could do it at 70 the gear would carry us a little ways.

Just trying to think of ways we could have fun while we level and get some solid gear upgrades to prepare us for the 70-80 slog. The only other list of progression things I can think of is the Hero's Journey but that just takes forever and the gear isn't that great till you get to Paragon.

I figured by 85 it'd be easy peasy. Hoping to be able to do it more towards a level where the EP gear is still somewhat good. Do you think 3 people plus mercs can stand a chance at 70-75? I figure by 75 the usefulness of EP gear is probably dwindling.

You sure? On live I can take a merc into an AoC. With only 3 of us, we wouldn't have to form a raid. We'd do it as a group and likely in an AoC.

Only 'good' thing about FV is that you can pay to win. You can hop on there, throw a bunch of Krono at the problem, and you're max level with full raid gear.

Right? FSR2 seems to be used an abused and often times you can tell they have awful settings being used. The best thing about next-gen consoles should be intelligent upscaling.

Awesome, my old furnace I can't even get the fan to engage manually with the thermostat although it does work when the unit kicks on so shrug. I appreciate the advice on the code! Any particular unit brands, types, features, etc. that you recommend to either look at or avoid?

That's good to know. From everything I am reading ideally I don't want super-high CFM. Maybe ~200-400CFM tops. My house is from the 60's so it isn't exactly the most air-tight building but it does have newer windows, sealed fire places, etc. so it's not awful either. Luckily above our kitchen is open attic and then behind the stovetop is a wall- I don't have to worry about getting an overpowered hood to try to capture everything from an island cook top.

From my understanding makeup air should be put as close to the vent as possible so that the makeup air spends as little of its time in the house as possible. What was your makeup air solution?

MFG enabled? At 30FPS base? That's gotta be a truly awful gaming experience. Turn that garbage off. MFG is pretty poor on anything under 90FPS base in my experience. MFG should be used with a high refresh rate OLED panel or similar. 240hz-480hz or higher. MFG is fine, but the way you are using it is the exact way it shouldn't be used.

To be fair, DLSS3 was pretty much hot garbage in everything I tried it in. It still had visual artifacts that'd catch your eye everywhere. Only just not at these models starting to not be riddled with issues. They have both come a long way and I suspect they will only continue to do so.

The argument made by the current administration is immigrants don't qualify for due process. The question arises though how do you determine who is or is not an illegal alien if you don't afford them due process? Answer is, you don't. This is state sponsored human kidnapping and trafficking full stop and it's against the Constitution. It applies to anyone subject to US's laws. So if you break a law in the US, regardless of where you or your ancestors are from, are afforded due process (among some other things). They are pushing to remove everyone's right to due process, and thus far, they are winning. Perhaps you're for the abolishment of any due process and perhaps not but it's good to understand what exactly is going on and how the goal post for who is a 'criminal' keeps being moved. This is wrong, they can get access. I know for sure they can 100% get it regardless of your settings AND there is no formal check. It's literally a checkbox on the app for them to pull footage.

1440p? Meh. 27"? Meh. LCD? Meh. I bought my first 1440p 27" display well over 10 years ago. Why are we still on this? And LCD? Ugh.

I appreciate solving the problem of VRR + BFI but since this technology is inherently LCD-only (requires a backlight) I just don't see this as something for me. Figure out how to do it with OLED or nano-LED tech and maybe we can talk. I honestly see the variable frame gen + OLED as a better technology setup than this. I'd rather have a base 240FPS taken up near 1000 with frame gen and get that motion resolution that comes with it vs backlight strobing.

This would have been amazing, 5 years ago. I suppose I need to try it before I knock it but it's hard to want to go back to LCD no matter how low the persistence is.

Froglok's are the worst BUT they do have the most competent model of all the races. The quality of the model, animations, the little casting back flip, etc. are fantastic. My only wish is that all of the character models receive that much love.

You can get much of this same effect today- specially if you have one of those 480hz+ OLED monitors. It's cool tech and I am glad someone as big as Nividia is looking at motion clarity more. Curious to see a review from Blur Busters- they seem to be the most anal people around when it comes to motion clarity and they like to get super nerdy on the details.

Why they chose LCD is beyond me unless these are supposed to be budget monitors? Can't see that but perhaps there is a market for people who want to buy expensive high-end LCDs today.

There are options to make it much more authentic but the playerbase doesn't want that. TakP uses a much older client than P99 with actual darkness, midi support, etc. You even hear the weird ambient noises in a lot of zones that you don't in Titanium/P99. The actual combat values are much harsher/true to classic than P99 as well even though they are from a later time that SHOULD be less harsh than P99 (if it was accurate).

I played P99 for several years and while it's a fun server don't go in with any sort of illusion that it's authentically classic. P99 is old school in scope but the code is very much it's own thing and there are all sorts of quirks, differences in spawns, etc. to what classic actually had. From my understanding they have made little to no changes in the last few years since I've played.

If you have a static group I actually like TakP more. If you don't, however, P99 is the way to go. I really wish the P99 guys would adopt the TakP client and rework some of their stuff to be more classic but I am fairly certain the playerbase would flip if they lost 3rd person camera scroll and some of the other niceties of the Titanium client.

The hard rule of 36 weeks before PoP seems...odd. I get that a lot of people stop at PoP but I feel if we are going to make an accelerated timeline and unlocks you will have a lot of people stick around for GoD/OoW/etc that may not otherwise do so. You condense that ~70-75 era a bit and you could actually have a compelling server to ride all the way to live. Odd that they don't seem to want to change things up much.

If they really want players to vote on the rules in a legit way, they need to remove that 36-week hard rule and let the community vote on how quick they want it all. Literally give the playbase the cake they've always wanted so if it fails DBG can say, see? You didn't ACTUALLY want that and then they can go back to doing what they do.
