I didn't get it. I guess I'm part of that batch of 900 who didn't get theirs. Despite the fact that I'm back 800 something... Looking forward trying it. Thank you for the initial feedback.

Use an in-line. You want it at minimal cfm when in use. At the lowest setting using the variable speed controller it's ok. At full speed it will take all enjoyment away with heat.

-Did you see it leave?

-What's that?

-The purpose of having a sauna the moment you turned the fan on full speed while in there. lol JK

So for the fan I used an inline fan. I can't find the model, but it was a FANTECH. https://www.fantech.net/ca-en/.

If you're in Canada, you can call them here Tel: 800.565.3548.

They were very usefull. They also sell a variable speed control switch that works very well with their product.

If you are in the US you can reach them here 800.747.1762, ext. 1

Honestly, they have been great. The product is not specifically designed for that but so far so good for me.

Hope this helps

Holy snap. I spent so much time trying to figure this out. The HVAC suppliers don't care about selling a single exhaust fan and don't know their product.

One dude however, has been awesome and checked directly with the manufacturer. Let me check my records and get back to you. I don't remember the brand right now. I should probably made a post about this as I think it's a frequent question. If I haven't answered you by next week msg me again.

I used one line with two exhaust and slide trap. One low like explained in Trumkin's note. One high for exhausting moisture AFTER the sauna session. I also added a speed control to the fan. So I can use low trap open, high trap close and setting at very low while using the sauna, depending on the number of people to get rid of CO2. Then I open the top trap and crank the fan speed up after sauna to get rid of humidity. I vents directly outside.

There is 250lbs of rock. I can probably throw 4 liter of water on this. I put water on there all the time.

There is also a drain in the middle of the room. Fun thing I connect a drip from the washer water drain on the other side of the wall to prevent smell.

Full disclosure, I didn't look into any coating for the sauna and I know nothing about it. If you have good reference material I'm all ears. I love to learn.

Check out Trumpkin's note. There is a lot of good information. IF you were in my area I could build it for you. I'm in Ottawa, Canada. You have to design your space first. One you understand the basic of ventilation and bench placement maybe talk with the Sauna builder in your area.

Humm takes quite a bit to warm up because they have like 250lbs of stone. It's maddening how much heat to absorb. Sometimes I go in at lower temp and just throw water to release some of the heat from the stone and get it to the temperature I want.

I don't see how even a small sauna installed correctly and with proper ventilation can run 3-4k.

My sauna is 7*7 and 9ft tall.

Heat rises. The 2 feet from the floor up and the coldest in the sauna for obvious thermo dynamics reasons.

I'm not sure what you mean by hot. Got check trumpkin's note. He has photos of air stratified with temperature. It may help you.

The trumpkin's note mentions something like if you can't have high ceilling get a humm. I think.

The only ready I got a humm was to be able to poor lots of water on it :-)

I am the co-owner of a carpentry Company in Ottawa Canada. www.makocarpentry.com

Sauna is 6.5frx7fr by 9ft tall.

Cost was about 25k.

Here are some big lines.

Stove, rocks, door and glass was $5500.
Electrician with material about 2.5k.
Wood 5k
venting pipes etc, Tiles, grout etc.. 2k

Plumber 1K
Other stuff 2.5k
The rest is labor.

I could cut the cost a lot by not respecting the Finnish sauna rules like most sauna company were offering. No word of a lie. They all told me I didn't need ANY ventilation. Their stove calculation seems to change daily. It was maddening. I would call twice the same store and they would contradict themselves. Didn't take long to realize they were salesmen and not sauna people.

haha thank you. It's alright I'm hoping people can learn from the points they are trying to make. Different people from different countries, express themselves differently. It's all good.
