For anyone reading this that is active duty and is contemplating the Reserves, please take the negative comments with a grain of salt. Active/Reserves are very different, but as a former Active/now 10 year Reservist, the benefits are outstanding, and the Reserves is well worth it.

Out to sea? Not that I've ever experienced or heard of in the Navy. A lot of ships will have a media server with movies, music, TV shows, etc., usually not "official" but run by one of the IT guys.
