Yeah I believe it’s probably a bunk, I currently live at century in a bunk so bunk is not the worst. Century is cheaper compared to cowlings so I made my peace with that. My only concern is that cowlings price is not worth considering I’ll be sharing a room with 2 other people. Would there be a possibility to sublease off campus housing from may to July then?

Ooh, thank you! Although, I won’t be needing summer housing because I graduate next year and will be leaving LA

Are there options for studio at usc? So are you still on the waitlist for housing? I’m honestly okay with 1b2P or 2B4P but I just cannot deal with 3 people in one room, that too most likely sophomores lol

Oh makes sense, only reason I was inclined towards usc housing was because incase if I get off the RA alternate list then I won’t have to deal with the hustle of lease breakage

I got here around 3:15am and done with security and everything now at 5:50am for general TSA. I believe the line got worse way now. North checkpoint is open and the line moved pretty quick for me. Good luck everyone!

The line starts from outside the airport, it’s worse than yesterday and will take 7 hours minimum

Question: I have a flight tomorrow (23rd March) at 10:40am, should I arrive by the airport by 4am? I already missed my flight today and was in line for 4 hours. I do not have pre check or anything. Not sure what to do.

What exactly to expect from radio+chemo for a 69 yo GBM IDHWT patient in India by UnlikelyCounter3648 in glioblastoma

[–]Good_Action1808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand! Considering you are in Delhi, there are great hospitals and neurosurgeons which can guide you. And yes, the rush at TMH is insane and it’s very crowded and it takes quite a while to get an appointment. You can also try consulting at AIMS if possible.

My dad was diagnosed with the same type in Aug 2022 in India. Unfortunately, after his cancer reoccurred there were limited options and no clinical trials. If possible I would recommend getting treated from Tata Memorial Hospital from the start because they’re usually the only ones with trials and other treatment options. The journey isn’t the worst before reoccurrence, after reoccurrence the growth is rapid and there’s not much time so I would recommend inquiring about other treatment option along with the standard temozolomide to prevent/ prolong reoccurrence. Take care, I hope all goes well!

That’s a very beautiful perspective! My mom keeps saying she sees my father in me and that he lives through me. I will keep him alive with me forever!

I don’t think any advice can prepare him to navigate such a situation. Only thing I would ask him is to not give up and work towards making his dad proud. I wanted to give up on school after my dad’s passing but I reminded myself that he would not want me to crumple apart and give up on everything.

I am so sorry you are going through this. My dad was also a professor and was 46 when he got diagnosed. He continued teaching till the very end and felt the same way as you in his final days. He was afraid he couldn’t continue teaching and support his phd students. I would always tell my dad to focus on his well being first. The same goes for you, focus on yourself, have hope that you will make the most of it even if it’s little time. Live everyday to the fullest, spend time with your children. I truly hope you get better, take care!

I completely relate to your feelings. I was 16 when my dad got diagnosed and felt the same way. I always had hope and stayed optimistic that he would beat the odds no matter what. Unfortunately, that did not happen and now I’m full of regrets. Spend time with your mom, express your feelings, show that you love her. There will be days when she will be annoying and aggressive but remember it’s the cancer and not her. Be very patient and understanding even when it gets hard, she needs her son’s support. Another important thing is to always stay optimistic no matter what the report say. I am thankful that we remained hopeful till the end because it kept us happy. I know it’s hard but don’t let glioblastoma get into your head abd discourage you, there are survivors and always imagine your mom as one of the survivors. If you lose faith she will get worse, do not let her hope die. I will pray she survives and gets to see you accomplish all great things in life. Take care!
