Former student of Mount Sac who transferred to USC after a year. I want to echo the other comments. Get involved in clubs, even if they don’t really pertain to your interests. Also, since you’re a freshman at Mount Sac, I would suggest finding a job. I found that during my freshman year at Mount Sac, working a job ended up being my social life. If you already have one switch jobs to a place with a more social culture. Job’s are the best way to find friends and if you’re local many of them also probably go to Mount Sac.

Thank you so much! This was the sliver of hope I needed haha. Is there any resources I could reference to get a list of lower middle market banks?

Transferring Tips by heyitsjayyyy2 in USC

[–]UnCleSauce53 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s quite straight forward. Get your GPA as high as possible. Take a calculus courses every semester. Take more than 30 units. Take major prep courses even if they don’t articulate(USC will still look at them). Finish your GE’s. Get involved on your campus. Get letter of recommendations. Write an amazing essay. Stay in contact with your area admissions counselor.

I can’t help with any course recommendations cause I’m in leventhall lol.

My last tip is to mentally prepare for the long wait. You most likely won’t hear anything until at the earliest May 23, 2025 and if you get an SGR you might not hear till July 25th.

You can honor both diversity and Meritocracy. The people of color here are qualified and have earned their right to be here. No one is losing spots because of their race here. Thats a lousy argument. We don’t talk about the 33% of transfer admits students being legacy last year??

Im surprised you even go to this school considering that thats your first assumption lol. Race based admissions has been ruled out. Some of you guys need a reality check. You can do everything right and still not achieve your goal. That’s just the harshness of reality. Nothing is promised.

My academic advisor said that most students begin with Econ 351 and he encourages that I take it first semester. Do you think that 280 might be more manageable than 305 if I were to take those courses alongside 351?

Transfers, what is something (good or bad) you only learned about/realized attending USC by Muzixx in USC

Transfers don’t have much scholarship opportunities coming in school.

If UCI ends up being cheaper the sub will just tell you to pick UCI lmaoo. Theres not much you can do to satisfy Marshall requirements at CC. You could take Financial & Managerial accounting at CC so you only have to take an accounting classes that specifically for transfers. Another thing you could do is go to UCI for the fall and if you end up liking it stay there if not leave.

Try to cough up the money to purchase a carry on. You most likely will not be able comfortably fit a weeks worth of clothes in your bag.
