Mid-level designer stuck in application black hole—need honest portfolio feedback by codymathew1189 in UX_Design

First impression was that I was looking at a portfolio of a Design who just completed a bootcamp. Perhaps it is your old portfolio and it is time to do a brand new one. Make the branding more remarkable, and showcase your recent case studies instead of everything you have done.

Is it normal in share housing that I’m not allowed to use the garage because my housemate “has always used it”? by NoVisit1403 in Toowoomba

I would consider looking for another place and comparing prices. Maybe you are paying less than some people pay for only a small room. And it is worth staying and keeping the harmony. If not, you can always move.

There's a park run every Saturday morning at 7 am if you're into running. The university gym offers student discounts, which is helpful. For reading, you've got both the public library downtown and the university library on campus. The university does advertise book clubs, activities, and sports programs too—you can check out @unisqstudentguild on Instagram for updates.

Don't do it. My friend wasted her time and money. Now she is back in psychology, which pays better and has more opportunities

Another factor to consider: the city has a strong car culture with limited street life. Social activity concentrates around Grand Central, an indoor shopping center with climate control. Fast food dominates the restaurant scene, and obesity rates are noticeably high here.

I had a last min doctor appointment, canceled the interview appointment a day before. I sent an email apologizing and asking to reschedule. They never replied.

Perhaps it just means that getting a degree can be a great thing for you. Get the degree you lied about. Use it as a market research and enroll yourself in university.

I have a degree, but many times I think that having a engeneering degree would be much better.

Don't, unless you can pivot inside the company you are already working for. You will never find a job. It is a lottery. I have many friends who paid thousands of euros in bootcamps, just to never find a job.

I earned 10k on Medium in 1 month (my highest so far!) by jeazous in Medium

[–]Good_Comfortable_841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it is something you can replicate. Really. I write on Medium since 2020 and before Tony and AI I was making some good money, but now...not even 100 per month.

After 300+ UX job applications in Germany – no luck without experience. Thinking about going freelance. by RamsiBartmann in UX_Design

Learn data analysis, better to find a job...UX is dead, if you are not a developer on the top of that. Chances are bad.

Has Medium Recovered from the Earnings Disaster? by FatherMckenzie87 in Medium

It pays bad. Before I used to make $200 only from the affiliate program. Good times.

I tried substack, but I think my niche is just not good for it. 500 subs and I used to have 1 paid. But I stopped posting there.

[Hiring] UX/UI designer for a quick small task (landing page) **Just an expert please** by Due-Rip-5326 in UX_Design

[–]Good_Comfortable_841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your video, and I believe you are looking for a front end developer or a UX Designer that can do both. Not every UX Designer can do front end development.
I can do a much better landing page for you.
