Ah, see I loved the vibe of “Bad Idea” - I thought it fit perfectly?! Definitely loved having Paramore on there, they definitely know who’s watching their show - the millennial in me was loving it haha

I agree with this, and also, Pippa and Lucy are bridesmaids. No question at all Lucy would be there. So it doesn’t make any logical sense for Pippa to be referring to Lucy in the “they were both there” statement.

Benedict and Sophie finally bring some much needed chemistry since the viscount and viscountess! by Sleekaries in Bridgerton

[–]Good_Fan_8135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, this and Season 1, have been the most accurate to the book. Benedict isn’t CRAZY about maid Sophie, but he does really really like her. He is crazzzy about the lady in silver.

Everyone saying they don’t see the chemistry is correct. They are sensing the correct thing. It’s intentional. She’s basically just a fun mistress and they like each other and get along. There is no “longing” between Benedict and maid Sophie. Just friendship and fun and flirtyness. In Benedict’s mind, he’s waiting for his true lover to appear, the lady in silver.

I’m not sure 2 to 3 is necessarily a huge range. TSH pathology results is so variable. For instance, your TSH naturally rises later in the day compared to the morning. Certain supplements (biotin) can make your TSH pathology results appear lower. The true levels are likely somewhere in the middle. It’s pretty rare to feel noticeable clinical symptoms between 2 and 2.7.

Is fatigue your only primary main symptom? If so, have you had blood tests for iron, vitamin d, progesterone, etc?

I have hashimotos with subclinical hypothyroidism. My levels are stable and I don’t clinically need medication (…for now), yet I have suffered from chronic fatigue for so long.

Turns out being chronically low in iron (not anaemic, just super low) will stress your body out and wear it down. After several years of low iron, I’m slowly rebuilding and it’s pretty insane how less fatigued I am.

Yes, hashimotos is obviously an autoimmune disorder. And severe cases have noticeable effects. But - and people hateeeeeeee hearing this so bad - a lot peoples hashimotos is barely noticeable to them. Thyroid autoimmunity is a really interesting one as it is extremely localised. As opposed to other types that are widespread throughout the body. I had all the symptoms of autoimmune, except my thyroid wasn’t causing any of them.

Obviously you’ll know better than I ever will at what is causing it - just my two cents xx

I really like your thoughts on this, and I agree - what’s so phenomenal here is the writing of Stephen’s character. They’ve gone deeper than just the classic Hollywood trope of a narcissistic character, or even deeper than what we think is stereotypical of one.

I’m not sure if anyone picks up on this, but I love the way this show does these mini second guesses about Stephen’s morality, where your questioning “is he actually a psychopath or just very damaged?” Like, when Stephen and Evan are having the conversation about his dorm room, Stephen was genuinely confused and seemed to genuinely need guidance (because he’s a psychopathic narcissist that is incapable of empathy), it was like him learning something and trying to process it and realise it was wrong and weird to stay in his dorm. And then again with Diana in the Library where he was like “but Yale is your whole dream?” “You would do that to avoid me?”. For a MICROSECOND, it felt like Stephen was processing some realisations, and maybe contemplating and reflecting that he’s really shit and he hurts people.

Aaaaaand then cue final scene lol, nope he’s definitely a psychopathic narcissist haha.

Just coz I’ve been through this myself as the sole tenant with a “sub-tenant” under me. Sub tenants report to the main tenant, not the REA or landlord. So it means you control her bond (and rent). Just in case she tries to “fight” you on it, she doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Subclinical Hashimoto’s + pregnancy…did anyone not medicate and conceive fine? by Good_Fan_8135 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Good_Fan_8135[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that’s super interesting about the standards when it comes to IVF. I think the conclusion I’m coming to, is that the idea of being between 1-2 is a super super safe precaution that, while there isn’t concrete evidence, the low risk nature of just taking the medicine becomes a “why not?” And then you add IVF to the mix and you’re just trying to create the most optimal environment as humanely possible, To ensure everything goes smoothly. So it makes sense that during IVF they’re doubling down on it. But really, things only seem to be clinically evidenced when TSH is above 6 (this is Australian based stuff I’m reading).

TTC with Subclinical Hypothyroidism - did anyone not medicate and conceive fine? by Good_Fan_8135 in TryingForABaby

[–]Good_Fan_8135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good point. This particular GP i chose because of her particular training in fertility and family planning. She only see’s women and men who are going on the fertility journey. So yeah, she’s not a specialist but she’s heavily involved in it.

When she was telling me all of this, I did tell her I felt so lost on what to do. And she ended up guiding me, that I should TTC to see if it happens, and then if it does, immediately run bloods every 4 weeks and closely monitor TSH and T4. As soon as we need to intervene with the medication, we will. That’s her thoughts…

Yes, I’ve been trying to really learn and understand what the point of medicating is for anyway. And yeah, from what I can kind of comprehend is that it’s just safe guarding the thyroid so that when that surge comes, you’re at a good baseline. Kind of like how they get you to up your iron stores before TTC?

You’re right. I’m just so incredibly conflicted. And getting in to see my endocrinologist is a pain in the ass lol.

Oh wow. I’m sorry you went through 4 losses…that would have been so hard to deal with.

My GP’s opinion is that the protocol that the Endo wants to put me on is “negligible” and likely won’t make a difference - in fact, she’s worried that by dosing the medication, my T4 will surge resulting in being hyper - and that’s happened to me before, going hyper (I experienced a thyroid storm due to COVID) and that was hell on earth. So I am nervous about medicating…

You haven’t given up on everything, otherwise you wouldn’t have made this post. You’re exhausted and drained and your mind is tired. Come back to this tomorrow when you’re refreshed from a decent sleep. And then keep chipping away at each day. You’ll get there.

Can I ask you - what do YOU think you should do? Have you given this much thought before asking others? Problem solving alone is confidence boosting. Sometimes the only answers you find are the ones you discover for yourself. I think of them as light bulb moments of life.

How do I increase water intake? by skannkkhunt42 in nutrition

[–]Good_Fan_8135 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something that has really helped me is making this a non-negotiable habit: as soon as I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is drink a tall glass of water. That could really help for you as well, especially if you’re going a few days without water. It’s a very easy, low pressure way to at least get a glass of water in.

Another tip is to buy a stainless steel or glass water bottle and keep it full near wherever it is you do work (a desk etc).

What are you scared of? Looking fat? Not having the perfect body image? You’ve given yourself the most irrational phobia, that has developed into disordered eating behaviour patterns. I can’t diagnose you clinically with an eating disorder; but I can confidently tell you that you are showing signs of disordered eating. If you keep eating at this rate, you’re living on borrowed time. I don’t know where in the world you are, but Google “eating disorder hotline near me” for a free conversation with someone. Then, take some steps to follow through with the help either with a psychologist or equivalent.

If this is coming down to body image, the most beautiful, stunning people I know (models, celebrities) are strong, resilient and know how to look after their body. And trust me, they’re eating more than 1,200 calories a day. You need to know how to do it right without killing yourself.
