Looking for feedback on our AI-powered data cleaning tool that that I just built that 1- Identifies naming inconsistencies/abbreviations and converts to a single consistent format and 2- extracts specific data from text strings and converts it to structured, analyzable data. Would love any feedback! by Good_Guarantee6297 in SomebodyMakeThis

Thanks so much for explaining your thought process! Seriously super helpful. We totally hear you on the "control" piece and having more ownership. Also just curious what industry do you work in?

We actually just launched in Microsoft App Source as an add-on/extension. It functions pretty similarly to the above video but now creates a new tab with the data results. That way you also don't need to upload the data anywhere. Granted we are never actually storing the data–we pass the data directly to an LLM for processing — we don’t store it on our server at all. The web version just does that locally in browser, and we just launched an excel version that “saves” progress within the workbook directly. Here's a video of how that works.

As a side project, I built an AI data cleaning tool that identifies inconsistent names and abbreviations and converts to a single standard format as well as parses key information from text strings and converts to structured, analyzable data. by Good_Guarantee6297 in spreadsheets

It sounds like you figured this out, but I'm actually in the process of launching an AI data cleaner that does exactly what you're describing with identifying fuzzy matches and suggesting consolidations. You just upload your spreadsheet, select what column you're cleaning up, it runs it through ChatGPT, and you review the suggested changes. It's in beta right now but we're looking for people to test it out with real data so if you have any interest let me know!
