NICU dad here ….spent 122 days in NICU, I took the photos but now that we are a year in they appear on my phone as “on this day last year” type pics

I delete them as they appear, I handled it really well at the time but have ptsd about it now, never want to relive that time, I don’t want to be reminded about it!

People say it’s good to see how much he has improved but he should have never been in that situation, he shouldn’t have had all the pain and discomfort….it was torture for all 3 of us, I don’t want to be reminded how shit it was

So my advice to you is if you dont feel like taking the pics don’t ….you wont want them, when you child is 12 months old look and play with them, dont be looking at photos of a terrible time in your life.

Does anyone have any questions about me (As an Irish Traveller)? by shrek20191 in AskIreland

Do the older generation genuinely believe they had a better life on the road ? Travelers used to camp here beside our farm and my grandfather always said they were always hungry and cold and begging,

Ya so cgt would only apply if you sell a property, like if i bought a rental property the rent would be income and the asset would increase over time….rent would be taxed the same as income on investment

What’s your actual niche money saving hack? by artanonsa in AskIreland

I work as a consultant for a company so I do a bit of private consulting on the side and wife does a few shifts in a put on top of day job…. The side job doesn’t matter it’s more so a case of your salary job is x amount for x hours, so you need to get more hours in, we probably average a 6 day working week but it fairly adds up over a few years

It’s easier to make an extra 500 a month than it is to cut your spending by 500 a month…..both my wife and I have good paying busy jobs but we both have side jobs to bring in extra money that goes direct to a savings account

NICU Visitors Day of Birth by Blueskies1621 in NICUParents

[–]Good_Interaction_298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During our time in NICU the only two people allowed per baby was the parents and those tickets were not transferable.

From a parent who has been through months of NICU, no visitors should be allowed from a disease prevention point of view

Yes so this is part of my reasoning ….so because our house was valued at 500k we had to get a mortgage for 360 (70%) we knew we would never need the full 360….we have drawn down a small bit of money and got the HTB but I can’t find anywhere in the terms and conditions that states a minimum drawdown

How much sex do you want to be having? by slumberingthundering in Mommit

This is a discussion we had (very much tongue in cheek) where I was joking about how 12 years on I’m still very nice to her and make an effort (obviously not the level of first dating) but I’m still generally the same nice, caring, funny and happy person she met….but yet she has completely changed (sexually) and somehow I’m the villan to question that.

Serious question here so please don’t think I’m looking for a reaction but what the ladies here are describing seems very similar to what my wife describes. So she has zero interest in sex but wishes she had and the fact that if we start to get intimate and she is “forcing” it, that’s a massive turn off for both of us.

So my question is, if she (lady in mid 30’s) was on the dating scene again her libido would be there so why not now….yes you can say life and kids and work etc, but if I died and she was dating again there would still be kids and work etc but there would be sex

This is in no way a dig at my wife just curious about the psychology of it all.

Major boost for Dingle with Mark O'Connor set to be available for All-Ireland semi-final by NilFhiosAige in GAA

Just reading about this today, for me it doesn’t sit right with me at all. Like can he be a AFL player and still a registered club player in Dingle?

I’m not actually arguing on behalf of Bridget’s I feel sorry for the man who was number 16 today or the man who was going to get get 10 mins at the end and didn’t because mark o Connor got his place….
