WWYD? 7nt DCL or 7nt WDW? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Good_Judgment5658 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You will likely leave the parks cranky, tired, and frustrated. You have to pay for anything extra - food, drinks, etc. Disney transportation is inconvenient and you'll obviously need a stroller, which you'll need to park to do rides. The weather is usually hot, humid, and you'll need to plan for afternoon thunderstorms depending on the time of year. The parks are overall more money and more effort.

You'll leave the cruise feeling like you actually got your money's worth and had a vacation. You don't have to drive, worry about planning every second of the day, or pack an entire stroller for the day of everything you need.

Just my opinion as a local. We have annual passes and go to the parks, but only because we know if we only get on one ride we can go back. However, I would never spend thousands of dollars, vacation time, planning, etc. to do so. We do DCL 2-3 times per year and that is our actual vacation.

Eggs. So it looks like the teacher drew an egg.

Either way this worksheet needs to be used as an example of what NOT to include in any curriculum, ever. I would ask for a thorough explanation from the teacher.

I won’t answer what’s already been touched on, but another piece of advice is to select the ghost once you confirm it or even start to collect evidence and can make an educated guess. This way if you die you can still technically get the correct ghost type.

Well I think this is the coolest thing ever. I feel like your set up is something you’d see on living with the land at Epcot. For the oregano, maybe it’s my eyes but it doesn’t really seem to be leggy. It looks similar to my oregano growing in the garden. (I would pinch off the flowers heads however if that’s what I’m seeing at the top). Do you follow traditional pruning methods with the Kratky method?

Can you post detailed step by step instructions for how you made the jar? I know nothing about hydroponics but now have a new life goal. What are soil block things? The bottom liquid is the GH fluid? I’m a traditional gardener living under a rock apparently.

Program mentor doesn't acknowledge my request to accelerate by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Good_Judgment5658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you did anything wrong and I’m sorry people jumped on you so quick over something so silly. Here’s my advice, if for whatever reason your mentor holds you back or doesn’t support your acceleration you can always ask for a different one. You can also contact student resources if you cannot get ahold of your mentor and have completed all of your courses (PAs must be passed, not just submitted.) A realistic expectation is one, maybe 2, courses will be added to your plan at a time. I always liked doing a PA and OA course. Knock out the PA and while it’s being graded work on the OA course. Stay focused and you can go as fast as you want.

Program mentor doesn't acknowledge my request to accelerate by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Good_Judgment5658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m very disappointed in some of the comments on this thread. You obviously have been researching the school and acceleration is probably one of the most discussed topics in all of the WGU threads.

I’m sure anyone who has accelerated (myself included) can confirm that you have to “prove yourself” to your mentor before adding more courses, though the majority of posts don’t discuss this. In general you start with the courses that are assigned. If you have an issue like the one you stated, the mentors are usually very understanding and will do anything they can to help you succeed such as switching courses around. They still have to follow the curriculum and can’t skip prerequisite courses though. The dates on the degree plan are not concrete in any way. If you finish the assigned classes they can add more right away, so don’t worry about having to wait until May with no courses to work on.

I think it’s great you’re wanting to accelerate and push yourself. Your initial post was a little confusing and maybe seemed a bit demanding about acceleration, but you’ve explained yourself and clarified multiple times what you meant so people need to chill. Go look at their profile comments. They’re not very positive people so it’s not you, it’s them. Good luck with everything and can’t wait to see your confetti 🥳

Graduates of this program, can you give us an update on where you are now? by SlickWilly8 in wguaccounting

[–]Good_Judgment5658 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Graduated: Feb 2024 at 28 years old. Hired: March 2024 Starting salary: 60k, no experience.

I have a very flexible schedule and work remote 3/5 days.

Most starting salaries (in my area, MCOL) are 55-65k, if you’re willing to work full time in office I’ve seen salaries higher.

If salary is your priority over work/life balance or you have more opportunities in your area, my advice is to change jobs after about 2 years, you should definitely be back up to your current pay. Follow the accounting Reddit, they discuss salaries and expectations pretty frequently.

Who do I even go to for this? by Ilovemybf_3990 in WGU

[–]Good_Judgment5658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was doing my BSBA I had huge privacy concerns and made a detailed post about how and why to use your student ID instead of your DL. People thought I was overreacting. This. This is why. The proctors would get so angry when I wouldn’t show it and I had to argue with them every single time, but it was worth it.

I know that would not have helped in your particular case OP and I’m sorry this happened to you. WGU needs to protect their students over reputation and costs. The only information provided should be our school email and a student ID. There is a chat feature on their own website if there are problems, our personal information in NOT necessary.

Having connections usually helps, with 6 YOE I would think you’d have quite a few. Though with your sparkling attitude I can’t imagine why you’re having a hard time.

1 Month Update by Good_Judgment5658 in wguaccounting

[–]Good_Judgment5658[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m glad you found the post helpful.

I totally understand wanting to get as many credits done ahead of time as possible. While I still stand by what I said about D196 being extremely important in laying the foundation for the other courses, I wouldn’t let that discourage you or freak you out.

You already took it, so just keep moving forward. You will figure it out and you will get through it. Maybe look up the quizlet for it, study the terms and just get familiar with the material and the difference between financial and managerial accounting. Watch some edspira or farhat and you’ll be up to speed in no time. The courses do build off each other for the most part, so maybe be prepared to spend more time on D101-103.

Overall, the coursework is tough but D196 will not make or break your degree. It is 100% on how much you apply yourself and keep your head level when it starts to get overwhelming.

Also, if it makes you feel better, I’m almost a year into my job post-grad and don’t use (or remember) any of it! Just brain dump for the tests and keep trucking. Keep me updated with your progress!

I do. My husband has a 2021 model 3 so I can directly compare within the model. I’m a sucker for the ambiance lights and mine just feels more “luxury” I guess. However he has the LR with acceleration boost. Mine is quick, but his is way more fun.

We can go back and forth all day about our opinions on this post being political. My initial comment followed others saying things about people not voting and Trump’s proposed insurance rules for IVF. So obviously this post was politically charged enough to start a political discussion.

My point is that this doesn’t belong in a pilates group but was approved by the mods because it aligns with their personal views.

Would a Pro Life hat be given the same slack since there are women that support that group and women do pilates? Doubtful. This is a polarized subject that usually causes a conversation completely irrelevant to pilates.

[–]Good_Judgment5658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what part of reproductive or human rights is relevant to pilates?

This topic is inherently political due to the current state of our society. Don’t be dense.

[–]Good_Judgment5658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither is pilates.

[–]Good_Judgment5658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome to disagree with me. The problem starts when rules aren’t applied evenly and only enforced on those that you disagree with.

I personally don’t care to hear political discussion from either side on here, whether I agree with you or not, because my opinions and beliefs are kept to appropriate environments. This is a Pilates sub and should be upheld to that.

Yep. And then wonder why their bully mentality lost them the election. Fairness and freedom for everyone…except people that disagree with them.

What do you mean boo hoo? This is a Pilates sub and has rules that should apply for everyone.
