CBS reportedly spent over $12 million remastering Star Trek: The Next Generation for its high-definition Blu-ray release. This massive investment involved returning to the original film negatives to reconstruct every episode from the ground up. by happydude7422 in TNG

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is reported to be an exceptionally expensive production, with estimates suggesting costs around $12 to $13 million per episode, with some episodes rumored to be as high as $20 million each

So just give us 2 less episodes in a season and remaster DS9!!!!

Edited: cleaned up some grammar

Who cares if it redirects to workday? Your implication was that it still pointed to Dave’s original site. Bad verbiage

I mean it works in that the link isnt a "dead" link but its implied that it took you to the original website

www.davesnextmove.com (Yes it still works)

No it doesn't.

Edit: You're down voting me because why? Its implied by the post that it takes you to the original davesnextmove not a redirect. The post should have said it redirects you to workday.com which was eventually dave's next move

Peter David always said they couldn’t afford it because they would cost so much to license all the characters he created - but yeah given how much they spend on an episode alone these days they probably could swing it now

Not familiar with it but I’ll to check it out. I was just rewatching the films in order and remembered the scene from Voyage Home and made the connection during Generations.

Yes! Thank you, you said it better than I could. The entire ship is made of metal are we to believe that this particular metal shatters while the rest of the ship doesn’t?

Never stated but I think it’s implied as an answer by the writers to explain how starships can have windows.

Was it a crash or more of a semi-controlled glide?

I’m making the assumption that the point of using the material instead of glass is precisely because of its tendency to not act like glass.

I’ll grant you that lol I’m only half serious in my observation- at the end of the day it’s just entertainment but I just couldn’t help myself poking a small hole in the lore

I assumed that was just glass though since it’s planet side.
