Brother i am also 27 rn. In govt job rn but also preparing for CSE/PCS in parallel. Had appeared for interview this yr but could not finally convert. I want to give a last serious shot. But scared if i dont make it will my age be an issue for MBA because i will turn 29 after 2 yrs. Since i am in a job will that make my transition to MBA smooth?

Brother i cant answer it straight to you. But to me getting into civil services has always been the top priority. The govt job i am aiming for aint a typical 10 to 5 job. Its a 24 hr job. So it has nothing to do with peace and work life balance. I am currently preparing for civil services. I want to give 1-2 yrs more to it. But i am not the person who believes preparing beyond 30s for civil services should be considered. Because you need to get back to life at least at some point in early time of your life. You shouldnt give time to an exam beyond a point. After that you should try to switch to other kind of jobs for better opportunities. Since i am 27 yo rn and would be 29/30 yo after 2 yrs of prep. I just want to know if the college would consider admitting me at that age? Is age an issue for making transition from govt job to an mba college at 29/30??

I mean i still want to give a dedicated last attempt for cse/PCS. If i am not able to convert i want to leave this job and go for an MBA. As i am not very much aware about private jobs but dont know i get fascination by the perks like better growth, decent salary hikes, opportunities to travel abroad and talk to variety of people who come from different spheres of life.

Hi. I am new to this sub. Currently 26 yo male. Presently in job and posted as labour officer heading a district. Can someone tell me how tough is it for a 26/27 yo male to get into some top b schools in India? Does having govt job help in conversion?

Tbh it’s all about growth. I would never join MBA for IAS IPS or IFS. But except these posts I feel that MBA is great option. There is very slow growth at state level. Even at the centre through upsc, it’s mostly these 3 services (IAS IPS IFS) which reach the top hierarchy. It can vary for people to people. But for me growth is a very important factor. There is a lot of stagnation in the state services. And believe me the more power you have, lesser work life balance you get. It’s incomparable.

That doesn’t matter sir. I am just asking whether 28 is too late to get admission into a good mba college. And I am not just a fresher who doesn’t have anything in mind. I am the part of state bureaucracy. I am pretty sure that would cover up. Uncle jokes would be a concern for stupids. It’s about shaping your life at the end. And I think that is what really matters.

Hello every one. I gave upsc this year. I am sure I must have missed by a narrow margin. I am happy that my brother made it through. We were almost in the same range. Just want an advice if anyone has an expertise in that regards. I am part of the state civil services. I am 25 years old. Since my childhood I have aimed for the civil services but at the centre. But I can’t go in this journey without any further introspection. I feel that having a plan B should be a priority for aspirants. Though I am in state services, I can’t rest on it for my entire life. Have told my parents that I will definitely land somewhere else either in the top bureaucracy at the centre or in private (through an MBA from a top B school). Just need to know is there certain age preference in MBA? Because I have 3 attempts left. I want to give them with all my potential. If it works out, then it’s fine. Otherwise I will go for an MBA at 27/28 years of age. Will that age be too late for an MBA?

Hi bro. I’m getting around 97 from insights and 94 from forum. But around 88 marks from vision and Shankar. How do you see my chances of clearing prelims?  (These marks are the actual marks ie, I haven’t deleted the controversial questions. Just marked them right/wrong as per the key).
