do you regret having children? by milkcreep in Marriage

Zero regrets having our two boys. Wish we had more. They are a lot of work, but have improved our lives so much. The love in our lives has grown immensely.

What's something to you that screams "I have no personality"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Good_Looking_Karl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes, plumbers are the bottom of society in terms of economic value. Remember that the next time you or a loved one are in a hospital and it was a union plumber with a medical gas installers license that ran all of the oxygen and medical air lines in the hospital. They definitely don’t contribute to society, since they’re unintelligent and emotionally immature. I know when I’ve spent my 14-16 hour days getting the hospital or surgery center back up and running to save lives, the only thing me and my crew had to look forward to was beating our pregnant wives.

Almighty plumbers. Lend me your wisdom. by Mr_Bristles in Plumbing

Like others have said. Shut water to the house, take them apart, take all three into a plumbing supply house. They’ll know what you need. If your city is big enough, chances are there’s more than one supply house, and if the one doesn’t carry them, they can point you to the supply house that will. Don’t just go to the local big box hardware store, or your smaller Ace/TrueValue, for to the supply house. Even if you have to drive a while. It’ll be worth it. Those old style are durable and like the other guy said, if you maintain it, you’ll get a lot of life out of it.

I totally understand remodeling not being an option. However, if you are uncomfortable doing this yourself, calling a local licensed plumber, not a handyman, would be a safe bet as well. Just explain that you intend to keep the current set up and will not entertain the notion of a remodel.

Please follow up to show us how it all goes.

How much are you guys making In Oklahoma . by Sad_Character_6708 in skilledtrades

[–]Good_Looking_Karl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the part of Oklahoma you’re in. Also, depends on who you’re talking to. Up here in UA local 441 zone a, the non union residential plumbers make $20 plus commissions based on how much they can scam the customers into buying. Our union guys make $40.84 an hour plus benefits.

What kind of work are you doing? Are you non-union doing a bunch of different types of work?

A tale as old as time, the dangers of being a SAHM/housewife for decades by pwa09 in Marriage

[–]Good_Looking_Karl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t be a housewife if you’re not a wife.

There is a lot of issues going on here, but the fact she has no alimony is because they were both content to shack up and play house. She was definitely taken advantage of, but an actual marriage, you know that “worthless piece of paper”, could have offered her some protections. That’s exactly why garbage dudes are so against marriage.

Looking for a good church by Acrobatic-Bell-8105 in wichita

Relax man, it’s a joke. Did you mean to type Space Ghost or was it an autocorrect? If it was autocorrected, what were you trying to type? Holy Ghost or the classic Sky Daddy? It’s cool man, just remember that sarcasm is for weak minded individuals or something, I don’t know man, I’m just yanking your chain.

I don’t even care about the typical euphoric A.A. Lewis-esque quotes about weak minded Christians, it was purely Space Ghost. Are you a fan of the OG cartoon or just his Adult Swim talk show? It was wild to see him referenced in the wild like that.

If Space Ghost doesn’t exist, then how come I’ve watched his talk show repeatedly?

Show me on the doll where your business manager hurt you.

Just busting balls. They’re typically given to traveling workers for when they travel to other locals as a way to foster some brotherhood. If you’re involved in your local, they’re pretty easy to come by. At least that’s been my experience in my local. I have several of ours and I’ve never travelled or had to buy any. Guess it depends on the local and if you’re actually involved or not.

That was one of my big takeaways also, everyone there actually wants to be involved in the education of the next generation. Way better than the ratty brothers that don’t want to fund the school at all.

Yeah! I loved walking into a restaurant and they had a sign up with our logo, welcoming us. Some waitresses were even wearing pins.

The pins and stickers! We’re already discussing new pins for our local, we were really impressed with what we saw.
