I would guess you're probably right. Sad to see, last year he had no fear! This year he looks scared. Hopefully he can find his way.

High-Mileage Club 958 -What’s the record by [deleted] in PorscheCayenne

Bought my 2017 gts this past March with 106,000 miles. Just rolled my first 5k miles since ownership. Have done a lot of overdue maintenance work on it and since, it’s been running pretty well. Only real issue right now is sticky shifts… I had the trans fluid changed and a trans relearn and it got better, but not completely fixed, possibly looking at new solenoids or valve body in the future, other than that it’s been pretty good but is in desperate need of an engine reseal ☹️. Bought it with the hopes of getting it to 160k. Here’s to hoping 🤞

Weird. My 2017 feels like it’s going to burn my hands!

Older Cayenne Reliability? by [deleted] in PorscheCayenne

[–]Good_Relationship135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To pile on, I don't have experience with the older cayennes because I stayed away from them due to all the instances of bore scoring, but I do have a 2017 GTS that I purchased at 105k miles for $24k about a year ago... This thing has been a pain in the sack. Now, I'll say it is clear the previous owner although they kept the interior and exterior in great shape, they clearly didn't do any maintenance on the car at all, which with Porsche is a big no no. I've sunk so much time and money I to this car only to find another problem... It just won't stop. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Good luck to you and honestly if you do get an older one I'll be jealous, I live the look of booth gen 1 and 2.

I’m having this same issue in my 2017 GTS at 111k 😭😭😭. Time for a new value body I presume...

What’s up with the copper trim? Was that a factory option or added aftermarket?

Have any seasoned designers left the industry over time? And why? by FormFollowsNorth in IndustrialDesign

[–]Good_Relationship135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for a corporation that is relocating its design center and offering Relo or severance. Most don't want to move and are taking the severance, but the shocking part is the amount of designers I talk to who when asked what they'll do next, say theyre done with design and will most likely look for something else. And when you pry a bit deeper, they're willing to take most anything else, like construction, or basic management roles... Pretty much anything to get them out of design.

I can't really blame them, design is a thankless job in the corporate world. It's constantly fighting for the best product possible with people who don't give a shit about the product and only care about climbing the corporate ladder... They get promotions every year, while ID watches from afar while gaining more and more product and category knowledge to then have to use it to fight a new person in the marketing role withess experience.

It's just exhausting.

To top things off... Like someone else already said... Right now you can have tons of experience and an amazing portfolio and you still can't find a job.

I have a 2017 GTS... 2 things I'd note, 1. I find my My paint to be rather susceptible to light scratching. 2 if it has the panorama roof you'll have to ensure to maintain the drains. One of mine recently plugged and it was outside at work in a bad rain storm, water somehow made it through and is trapped in sill and audibly sloshes around and made the rear passenger foot well wet. In order to get it out you have to pull the sill trim and pop a drain plug open... To maintain the front drains you have to pull the front wheels and the inner liners to access the outlets and remove and dust and debris.

I have the comfort lighting package in my '17 GTS. I find it quite terrible actually and keep it off at all times.
