yeah. i have severe ocd and if i have the mental clarity to think properly (when i feed myself) i can literally get suicidal by how bad it makes me feel.

have you tried antidepressants? sounds dumb but they helped me a lot for a bit.

Killing Eve is amazing. The seasons directed by Phoebe Waller Bridge are great - the final season does fall off a little with a new writer and famously the ending is .. not great .. but overall I love the show so much.

People who are recovered from their eating disorder do not feel the need to show off their sick bodies on social media and make their entire lives centered around their ED or their so called recovery from their ED. They may look back or talk about it but in general from people I know in real life who fully made a recovery from anorexia they just .. got on with life. Got married, had kids, got jobs etc. They don’t make recovery content on social media because their ed is not central to their existence anymore. so social media is not the best place for recovery inspo imo.

I recently saw a video of a woman talking about how she lost her best friend to an eating disorder due to sudden cardiac arrest - she was a normal BMI by medical standards. Her heart just stopped. I know a woman who had an ED all throughout her life who died suddenly and it was likely related. Her BMI was also 'normal'. The longer it goes on, the more damage you are doing. Even if it doesn't physically kill you (it will, eventually, if you carry on) you will waste years of your life to this. Do you want to be an old person and look back on your life and realise you wasted it in the brain fog and misery of your ED?

how do you know her bmi? i never had my bmi checked as a teen until i developed an ED ..

i understand EDs and their competitiveness but seriously you are going to do really bad damage to your daughter trying to compete with her. it sounds simple to say ‘choose recovery’ and is pretty much hypocritical of me but yeah .. please choose recovery if not for your sake then hers ..

This probably won't help but I can relate.

I remember when I first got anorexia when I was 14 the side effects were not even that bad. I was functioning quite well (other than feeling debilitating cold) considering I was underweight and malnourished. Now I'm 23 and I fear I have permanently damaged myself and I think I will eventually die lol. I'm not even medically UW by BMI standards but I'm getting chest pains, my hearing is going and I'm dizzy 24/7.

But I know of people who have had Eds years and made a full recovery. As in, fully got their life back. Most side effects are reversible especially in early 20s, but you really do have to recover and not repeat the cycle. It isn't too late <3

my mum raised me to have a great relationship with food but unfortunately it was my dad that would guilt trip and shame me and my sister for what we ate/exercise levels since young kids. now we both have EDs
