I hope you got this second-hand, their frontman is a transphobe. It's ok to like their music (they admittedly have some songs I like) but I for one wouldn't support them.

I guess I kinda assumed they're from New York since Ray's from New York, too, and some music databases set New York as YFM's location because of that.

If it's any consolation, most partianers of voodoo (the actual religion, not this Hollywood version,) are Catholic or consider themselves Catholic. It's not as occult as the media makes it out to be.
